I prefer using ASTRO because it also has a nice backup tool too so every time I install a new app I backup the APK using ASTRO so I have an archive.

I was bored: The very best Android games

Anyone know of a weather app that has the ability to download and display METAR feeds like PocketWeather for windows mobile?

Well I finally managed to convince my dad to get a desire, what would you suggest I tell him to install?

Still waiting on the 2.1 update for my i5700 too...

Rubbish launcher...doesnt let you have the HTC sense which i like....not aot of widgets you can add either...quite basic really.

Wow seems you've brushed it off as rubbish with only a 2minute install and look?

It's not rubbish at all and no launcher apart from HTC's Sense will allow the use of Sense widgets (which is pretty obvious I guess).

I've just installed Launcher pro and it is better than Sense IMO "if" you are 50/50 on Sense widgets to begin with (ie: don't use FriendStream, HTC weather etc) because those things are available via Market widgets anyway.

I've installed Dazzle widgets, Weather forecast and some others that give the same functionality as Sense so this is all fine.

.not aot of widgets you can add either

That's because it allows you to add as many widgets as Android comes with, no different to the stock Android launcher.

If you've not added any widgets off the Market then it's clear you won't have many to chose from when not using Sense.

Launcher pro is very fast and very smooth and once you've replicated Sense-like widgets off the Market it is just as usable but faster and prettier than Sense :) I'm a big fan of the N1 launcher that Google have used and anything similar but with more features is always good in my books.

Edit*
I have not found any bugs in it yet but will of course report back if/when I do.

Hmmm ok so what sort of widgets am i looking at??...to give me the Sense look but with this launcher??

Check my Appbrain link in sig :)

I'm not saying you'll be 100% pleased with the results (it is after all a user preference) but knocking it off as rubbish just because it doesn't allow SenseUI widgets is a bit OTT if you ask me considering that HTC don't allow any launcher except their own to use them.

The fit and finish is damn close and because this launcher is so smooth (more than the actual Nexus One launcher) and fast it just makes sense (!) for me to use it :p

I'll put a video up later tonight I think.

I'll give it another go and see how i get on with it...it did look nice though and the fact you can have up to 7 screens was something that i liked.

Really, give it a chance and get some well made widgets :)

One thing I really like is that when you accidentally brush your thumb over the trackpad the homescreen doesn't move like it does on SenseUI - that had me annoyed a few times when it spazzed out moving homescreens as I just brushed the pad with my palm or thumb!

LOL yep i noticed that too...didnt like that myself.

Ok am off to set it up and see how it works for me:)

I prefer EStrong File Manager as it does everything Astro does but also allows me to connect to my network shares over WiFi....
