are there any alternatives to Samsung's (googles?) car mode? I've not had a look but while the voice commands are very snazzy and all i'd prefer just fat buttoned links to music and nav when in the car...

Yep i bought the full version but got it refunded today as my music kept skipping but on the standard inbuilt one it was fine ie didnt skip at all.

Ended up buying poweramp which is much better and nicer looking imho.

Thanks bought the full version today and like it a lot.

Does anyone know how to stop the native media player from playing ie when i plug my headphones in my music starts automatically and when i disconnect my headphones it stops. But the problem im having is that i cant seem to make poweramp my default music player.

Any ideas??

Have had a look around the net and cant really see any solutions to this problem.
 
Try this (from memory, so might be slightly off with my wording):

Settings > Applications > Manage my applications > Music > clear defaults

Tried that but the option to clear defaults is greyed out :/

I guess ill have to ditch llama as i wanted that to handle what to do when plugging in my headphones ie start playing my music from poweramp and then when i disconnected my headphones it would stop the music etc. Works brilliantly with the native music player but not so well with poweramp.

What is the best backup app for an unrooted handset (HTC One X) please? I'd like to be able to do a complete image of it if possible or as much as possible

Newb question, can I use a pre paid debit card to buy apps from play store or other popular app shops, I don't wanna use one of my proper cards and I can't use Giffgaff credit.

I would expect so:
