You might like to have a look at AirDroid, which they say ... is a fast, free app that lets you wirelessly manage your Android from your favourite browser.
Personally I have found it useful on more than one occasion, and although my PC is 'hard wired' into my hub, my Nexus is wireless, and links with it nicely.
AirDroid is a great piece of software especially since they sorted out the problem with it not being able to access your sd card.

Alarm Clock Xtreme has this option but it says it doesn't work on all phones. It doesn't on the phone I would like it to work on (Motorola Defy+).
Seems like it's more of a hardware/rom issue then?
Google have separated the Calendar application from the main ROM and have it as an upgradeable program:
