Essential Android Apps

I wouldn't use one connected to a public wifi network but over 3G and my own wifi? No problems.

I've been using the NatWest once since I had my blackberry, great little app very useful for checking balances and quickly moving cash between accounts or sending payments to previously used accounts.

Depends on what the app does but most of the banking ones with real functionality have 2 factor authorisation. You're probably less likely to have a logger on your phone than your PC unless you like installing dodgy apps on Android but the fact that you can lose your handset etc... I just use their websites typically.

Fotodanz creates cinemagraphs, here's a quick attempt, keeping the camera and subject still helps :p

Will be playing around with this!

There is a new Sony created app too but it only allows you to share within the app itself.

Anyone with a rooted phone fancy trying this to see if Sky Go works?

Quote from user on xda:

1) ota rootkeeper temp unroot
2) superSU app and use Full uninstall ( This deletes SuperSU apk)
3) back to otarootkeeper and restore root
4) tested root using root checker ... says rooted but no SuperSU app as you can see from the pic
5) tested sky go... works on every channel

Now i tested root with titanium and root checker, both say rooted, HOWEVER, both dont ask for permisson to use root, as the APP is gone, so it seems to just grant it access automatically ( could be risky)

But it works.

He has posted a pic showing root checker confirming he is still rooted, and another pic showing Sky Go working...

Does it animate if you put it on your Facebook?

Not tried that yet, will do shortly! But I don't think it will work as Facebook doesn't support animated gifs so I assume it links to the gif instead!

I thought smart phones all encrypt their data over wifi anyway?

Maybe but I'd still be dubious because anyone can sit on a public wifi network and sniff out packets. I wouldn't want to risk it!

Is there an app that allows me to control my android tablet via bluetooth using my phone as the remote?

edit: want to use my phone as a mouse & keyboard to control my tablet
