Anyone with a rooted phone fancy trying this to see if Sky Go works?

Quote from user on xda:

1) ota rootkeeper temp unroot
2) superSU app and use Full uninstall ( This deletes SuperSU apk)
3) back to otarootkeeper and restore root
4) tested root using root checker ... says rooted but no SuperSU app as you can see from the pic
5) tested sky go... works on every channel

Now i tested root with titanium and root checker, both say rooted, HOWEVER, both dont ask for permisson to use root, as the APP is gone, so it seems to just grant it access automatically ( could be risky)

But it works.

He has posted a pic showing root checker confirming he is still rooted, and another pic showing Sky Go working...

I tried this yesterday and had no luck :(

Didn't the Development team at Facebook have to (temporarily) swap their iPhones for Android Phones (think it was Galaxy S3's or summut) till they got the Native Android App working smootly like it does on iOS??...

(think I read this somewhere!!)

It's a hell of a lot smoother on my Arc (which has limited memory etc...) no stuttering, freezing and it's not crashed yet!.. and my News feed is jam packed full of Images!!...

Plus the Notifications now have a small thumbnail of any images that are mentioned (so you can ignore the crap ones!! :) )

Liking it so far!! :)

Hi. what is a good app to stop my 3 gmail account from auto syncing all the time?

on the gmail settings, you cannot specify the interval time to sync.

i wish to set it to so it only syncs and pulls new emails once every 2 hours for example

You can't, you can only have it on or off (in account settings) - it'll adjust sync times depending on how often you get emails - the more it pulls in every time it syncs, the more often it will sync (it will decide that you're popular and need to read your mails more) - but on the flip side, if it syncs ever hour and gets nothing for two attempts, it'll increase the interval as you're obviously a billy-no-mates lol

You can turn off sync with a toggle in the pull-down window so you can do it manually if you prefer (that's how I do it)

Did you by any chance try Sky Go at some point before trying the above, where it detected your phone was rooted and as a result didn't work? Just that people have reported trying a rooted phone with no luck, then un-rooting yet still being told the same by Sky Go - that it doesn't work on rooted devices.

Apparently there were posters up around facebook HQ saying 'do you droidfood'. Encouraging the developers to use the android app, to see how bad it really was.
