Essential Android Apps

Decided on Friendcaster, just found that the SMS notifications were not working, and that even though I find the interface too messy, it'll do.

Still don't see the new FB app being much better to be honest...

To get push notifications working in the Facebook app you need to log into Facebook on a Blackberry.

Mine never used to notify properly. Since I followed a guide using the Blackberry my notifications work 100%.

You can use a virtual Blackberry to do it as well if you don't own one. That's what I done :)

Wow! Nova has just had a massive beta update! :D

Icons and folders:

* Icon resizing (Prime)
* Swipe up action on desktop icon (Prime)
* Use app icon as custom icon
* Swipe to open folder, tap for custom action
* Disc background for folder icons
* Folder background transparency
* Support iconmask and shader in icon themes
* Updated Nova Action icons
* Bigger grid size options

Drawer Settings:

* Isolate tabs
* Infinite scroll
* Remember position
* List style
* Auto close

Dock:

* Auto close
* Use small icons

Wallpaper:

* Crop to portrait/landscape or full
* Wallpaper scrolling on USA SGS2

Under the hood:

* Aggressive Desktop (Keep in memory)
* Merge Android 4.2 changes
* Faster load times
* Reduce memory usage
* Default on for UI Lock, widget async and widget cache
* Expandable "Advanced" in Settings menus
* Custom activity background instead of banded gradient

And it finally has what I have been waiting for....... Infinite scroll in the app drawer and keep in memory!!!! :cool: Long overdue those two things.

Edit:

It also supports the transparent notification bar for htc sense v4 and higher as well now, whoop! :D

Been using it for a while. Although it's in dollars, every app I've looked has had the same discount for the UK. Haven't come across any compatibility problems :).

are you tapping the link to the game/app in the app or are you finding the deal then going to the play store app and finding the game/app there.

if i tap in the app it sends me to the US version and says its not compatible.

No Nova update here either. Play Store latest is 1.3.4 which I have. If I check for updates on the Launcher options itself it says I have the newest :confused:

Can the updated people tell me what version they have?

Go to the nova settings, then the update section. Then within the update theres a settings option on the top right hand corner, select this and then your able to select beta releases and download from there.
Just updated my 'prime' release to this new beta and working great.

I'm just tapping the price and it's taking me to the market. Maybe I've just coincidentally looked at international apps and not American only :)

strange, that's what im doing. tried 4 or 5 and they all do the same.

its like if you try downloading flash player on jelly bean is tells you your device is not compatible. i think its just more to do with the currency, some apps will be cheaper buying from the US

Ta, got it :D

Edit: Had to go back to 1.3.4. If I accessed the drawer then went back to desktop, my dock disappeared. If I used the options to disable then re-enable it, it would come back till I accessed the app drawer and it would vanish again :confused:

Go into it again and make sure you haven't ticked the box to auto-hide the dock after app launch - it works for me as I have my dock set to show/hide with a swipe up... if you don't have such a gesture enabled, then yeah, I guess it'd just disappear wouldn't it lol

Did that already last week, better but still stops working at some point. It was like this for both my iPhone 5, S3, and now my Nexus 4. Are you getting message notifications through the app or do you find you have to download Messenger as well?
