Essential Android Apps

Anyone got a short list of the best free apps with links (Am lazy )

It's difficult to sum them up, mate just got a new phone and I was hard pressed to recommend many, with 2.1 and 2.2 Android doesn't have anywhere near as many "essential" apps as 1.5/1.6.

Guess am best to wait for my desire to arrive and see what apps it comes with first...

But one app i was always using on my n96 was flashlight..anyone know if this app is also out for the desire ??

Can someone give me a quick overview of the Wavesecure app. I set it up and then it decides to tell me its a 7 day trial

And, now that I've rooted, I no longer seem to be able to get LauncherPro, is there still a sneaky place to get it from?

Get it off their website, they are having issues with it not appearing on the app market at the moment.

Wavesecure is a 7 day trial but it's $19 a year which seems fair to me considering it is virtually a fool proof way of securing your phone

If you are rooted Barnacle Wifi tether is a great app. Been testing it today and it has been flawless.

How do I install the .apk from the PC?

The launcherpro download doesnt seem to be an apk file once unzipped

Can't get any tether to work on mine, they start up fine but can't really connect

Go to their site in your desire browser

Then install the .apk

Wireless ether for root users didn't work for me, well it does but when a client connects it doesn't show up on the access control list and the client shows it's connected but with no internet connectivity so it's partially working.

Well, free for the life if you keep the phone you used it on. New phone = not free on that phone (according to website)

Same here then, can get laptop connected, no internet access though.

Hopefully a fix will come soon.
