Anyway, 4.3,.0 by Brut.all is excellent. Vector mapping test is amazing, so smooth, getting 30-32fps. Will be excellent once enabled in Google Maps.

Can you download the Google Map tiles from somewhere?

That's being worked on but at the moment the tiles are saved to SD as you use Google maps and Navigation once you enable it in the brut.all options menu.

I ditched it when Google maps had the navigation Beta as it seemed pointless. Is there another use for it now?

It has a lot more features now and will be adding more (vector mapping for example).

* force-enable MT. If you're on Eclair or some custom Donut and don't have multitouch zooming, then maybe this will enable it.
* force-enable Buzz feature
* fix for map shift issue in China

* installable on non-rooted devices
* could be installed beside original app

Without apps to SD the brut mod is just too big with the normal maps installed

Wavesecure. It was free but might cost a bit now. It backs up contacts, SMS and call records and you can track the handset remotely via their website and remotely lock and wipe it if lost.

Not really... I tried it out for almost a week and it didn't really help my battery life as much as I thought it would

Mybackup

Seems a fairly comprehensive app for the price.

I take it the idea is that i can backup all my stuff, redo the firmware, reset to factory, get a new android phone, etc; and it'll restore everything exactely how it was?

Just downloaded it and tried it.
Seems quite good.
Cant decide wether to get rid and not bother though. All my importent stuff is on my SD card anyway, and im always cautious about restoring backups due to unforseen complications. Or maybe thats just a 'caution' ive carried over from Windows. lol.
Thoughts?

DroidExplorer.

I think for some stuff in there though you need root.

Works fine however!

As for restoring, root allows you to backup apps AND app data so you don't need to reconfigure apps after a restore. Non rooted devices just backup the apps and not private apps either.

Titanium Backup is the only app that can backup /everything/ selectively and batch backup/restore as well as allow multiple backups for each item.
