Essential Android Apps

Nah, opera mini just doesn't render pages correctly for me, they all look crap compared to other browsers :(

Although, it is the fastest out of them.

Also I seem to still have this problem where youtube videos won't actually show at all with 3rd party browsers, it's just a blank space, where as with stock it shows properly

Any ideas?

Also I have made sure that the plug ins are always enabled.

Thanks.

EDIT:

Also for those who might want an alternative gallery to the stock one, have a look at quickpic, it's very nice, extremely quick and a lot of features, although some pictures looked kind of weird so sticking with the stock android one for now.

All of them just look wrong and really low quality, especially ocuk forums, nearly all the lines separating things are missing and the text looks quite blurry, plus google search results is very differet looking, although this may be due to the way opera works with google maybe

I will try and get a screenshot or a photo showing you what I mean exactly when compared to others.

EDIT:

Saying that though, it doesn't impact me at all in terms of not being able to browse the web, it's great for speed, it's just the quality that I find really poor, well for me anyway.

Thanks.

The ocuk ones look a lot better.

You actually see the black lines separating the forum into sections when zoomed out.

The google search results look the same as mine.

The bbc sports page has the same layout, but it looks sharper on yours but that is down to your resolution (mine is 320x480).

And same for that article although yours fit much more in than mine :p due to your resolution again :(

Unfortunately I can't post screenshots due to the new kernel that I am trying at the minute, so once that bug is fixed I'll post some.

Pretty sure it's down to you having a better resolution screen, GPU etc. now after seeing those screenshots.

Also do you know how I can solve this problem as it is currently stopping me from using any of these browsers :(:

Only seems useful if you run the app for it, so won't work via Google Maps Navigation? I think I can ninja-speed while Google Navigating until Google update with their own free DB in Android Maps :p

nexus18: just a thought but from what i remember i think opera has a feature which renders the pages in lower quality on there end before they send it to you so that it loads quicker. perhaps this is enabled?

That's how both opera apps work, there server based web browsers, they do the work so that the pages load faster, save bandwidth etc. I think you might be talking about the mobile version perhaps as it has a few settings, which change things like that e.g. turbo mode.

The only settings I could see really for mini version was the image quality and the connection type either HTTP or socket.

Not keen on the mobile version either as it is massive for a browser, uses a lot of RAM and plus didn't find it any better than the mini version tbh.

Thanks.

Going to stick with the stock android browser as it's the only one that shows the youtube videos properly :(

Nexus18, do you find the USB connection for file transfer takes ages to connect on the CMa8.3 software? or is that just my phone being gay? lol
