Holo launcher is pretty good too, I'd put it on par with Apex, but I'd still choose Nova over both of them :) just throwing another option in the mix

I use Apex, Nova does feel snappier but it stretches a few widgets for me. So for the sake of eye appeal instead of performance I stuck with Apex...

Best app for sound mute profiles at night? I'm lazy and don't want to have to rememeber to turn my phone to silent prior to bed every night :)

I actually use 'Sony Smart Connect' on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (couldn't get on with Llama :D )

It's quite customisable!, I have it set to go to silent when 'Plugged in, between the hours of 10pm and 5am'. so if I'm still out and about between those hours it won't go to silent as it's not plugged in! :D

There's some other bits with headsets, and hands free etc, but I don't really use them! :)

What do the gestures allow then? And what else is worthy from the paid version? I might buy it.

They can allow pretty much anything you can think of.

I like a tidy minimalist desktop, so I've got swipe up to show/hide the notification bar and swipe down to show/hide the dock.

Two-finger swipe up for Nova settings, cos I'm always tweaking, and two-finger swipe down for android system settings. Also use double-tap to go into app drawer.

Any recommendations for a calendar events widget that goes alongside Minimalistic text?

I know minimalistic text does this, But requires a lot of setting up if I want 4 events showing. Either that or can someone export theirs?

Hey guys, just got given a Nexus 7 (jellybean android) for work.. What ESSENTIAL apps do i need?

Keyboard is already irritating me.

Anyone know of any decent stock replacement keyboards which includes the "Phone/Mobile" layout?

What i mean is the keyboard layout which is like a number keypad. The HTC phones have it as an option, but the missus is changing her phone to a "Vodafone" Smart thing and not sure if it has this as an option.

Ta.

^ T9 is the layout you are looking for. Smart keyboard has a decent T9 keyboard option if you dont mind paying. There seem to be a few free ones though, just have a search for 'T9 Keyboard'
