Essential Android Apps

Right can someone help me please? I have used Llama Locations for quite a while and it is an awesome app, however due to living in close proximity to my Uni the cell tower location method is not very effective and perhaps I fancy a change a little.

I've tried to use Tasker but am having very little success getting it setup, I understand it's extremely powerful but can't help but feel the interface is a bit overly complicated at the same time. Another program that is very interesting and along the same lines is called Dessin, however after playing with the extremely neutered free version i'm unsure of parting with £3 just to experiment.

So does anyone have any suggestions for a location profiling app?

I just installed tasker to remind myself, you'll need to do is something like this..

1. Make a new profile with the state 'wifi connected' (it's under state>net).
2. Choose your uni SSID
3. Add your new task when this is met, such as muting audio.
4. Once your basic profile is set up, you can add an exit task. This is basically telling your phone to do something once the state reverses (in this case, disconnecting from the wifi).

Long press on the task and click add exit task. Create a new task, such as turning audio back on.

I just made something similar for my work wifi:

Benjo and Kreee thanks for the advice the only problem with using Wifi as a trigger is that the coverage throughout my uni buildings can be hit and miss meaning that profiles don't say set, i'll keep thinking or have to get creative with tasker.

I'm using a simple little clock app called "ClockQ" but I've just noticed that the main app time is ever so slightly out from the clock at the top right of my Nexus 5!?!?!

The app was saying 11:57 whereas the top right clock was saying 11:58!?!?! I know it's only a minute but this is the sort of thing that drives me crazy!!!

Anyone know how or why the times differ?? I'd have thought that they both should get the info from the same place????

I'd imagine that the time on the app will be grabbed from the app owners servers where as the time on the phone will come from Google services.

What I did when I was at uni was to download my timetable and import it into Google Calendar.

Then I set up a profile on Tasker that set my phone to silent every time my calendar said I was in a lecture :)

Just had an update from Viber:

What's New

TABLETS support! Use Viber on your tablet and phone simultaneously.

• Over 1000 new stickers from the Sticker Market

• Hold & Talk - instant voice messages. Your friend will hear you as you speak!

• Select conversation backgrounds from the background gallery

• Up to 100 participants in group conversations

• Improved notifications

• More fixes and improvements

Hate the fact they say "improved notifications" when you still can't turn off the stupid send sounds or change individual contact sounds.

I still don't see what the big fuss about viber is. The layout is also still awful in my opinion.

Is it possible to get Stormfly to work on 1 screen only?

I have 2 home screens but the weather icon (sun, moon etc) is on the crease of the screens! It looks good but annoying.
