Euro Truck Simulator 2 worthy of purchase

Went and did the Stelvio pass, up from Milano and all the way back. Flat out in my 480bhp Scania.
Wooooooooo :D

Great fun, hit 99mph briefly! Did a few suicidal overtakes.

What I want is a time trial mode, so we can have an OCUK challenge on who can get from one end to the other quickest :p

I have two garages one in London and one in Rotterdam, I noticed four of the five drivers from my Rotterdam garage where resting a long time so I kept an eye on them and they wouldnt go back to work, I tried shuffling one or two of them ab out but they still refused to stop resting so I sacked them and the new guys have started work thank god, first time I have this, yesterday I started using the trucks wont return empty mod so I have deleted it as maybe it was causing this, anyone else had this problem of shirkers ?

This thread got a "shout out" on the SCS blog:

Euro Truck Simulator 2 seems to have a hard time grabbing attention of mainstream gaming news sites and media in general. Most reviewers learned to ignore small simulation games, and ETS2 is simply getting the same treatment, even though we managed to convert quite a few people to our side who might think of themselves of hardcore gamers (see for example this long thread on Overclockers).

Read this thread from start to finish.. Looks like I'll be downloading the demo after work. Funny how when I saw the release it didn't interest me in the slightest however after reading the thread I'm thinking it might be fun :p

I bought the game as it is great.

I just wish they would, shut up, take my money and make ETS3 with a MMO mode.

Us lot trucking all over Europe competing against rival hauliers?

Thing is really its a very boring thing to get to grips with, yet it is strangely compelling to play, especially when you start running your own business and get a small fleet of trucks and drivers going...

My only gripe with this so far is the time scale, Liverpool to Amsterdam in about an hour? lol Eddie Stobbart eat your heart out! :)
