There seems to be little choice when it comes to buying trucks, the only choice i can see at low level, right upto atleast lvl15 is the 600hp volvo which you can buy from the start. Every other truck is only like 320hp, which is kinda poo really as i wouldn't mind having multi makes of vehicle in my fleet. But theres really no alternative :<

IME the volvo (with upgraded engine) is the best starter truck. At later levels, in terms of horsepower, Scania (730) then MAN (680) but subjective opinions come into play here.
Lol seriously? Visibility from the Volvo cabs is brilliant imo, You want to try the DAF trucks, Now they have crap visibility
Indeed, Volvo's are the best allrounder. However, I prefer the MAN interior, with the most useful dashboard and greater visibility imo - you spend more time in the interior than the exterior afterall.
What are you fella's driving atm? MAN 680 6x4 is my current (for a while)

Scania 360 -> Lolvo 750 -> Scania 500 -> Scania 620. I'll get the Scania 730 upgrade after my next trip. Scania cabin is a nicer place, Lolvo a close second.
The Lolvo is a great starter truck other than the rubbish brakes. Tried a 6x4 then went back to 4x2 as the short fuel range is annoying and it doesn't change the loads available.

Are you sure you have put the file in the right place?

If you're like me I thought it wasn't working at first, as I originally put the file in the install registry.
I seem to spin out less with a 6x4, especially with those small tankers. Although do agree having smaller fuel capacity is mildly annoying - but then I rest at fuel stations anyway, so kinda moot. Eco-driving's handy for extending too.

Speed mod worked for me.
ATM I'm driving a mod truck, A Scania Stax. bonneted thing, wide arches, huge wheels very much a show truck. It's actually not too bad
My Spares are a 750bhp Volvo FH16 and a Scania something with the 730Bhp engine upgrade.

Yeh the 6x4s are a bit less prone to tipping over when doing 80 on motorways. Despite this I've stuck with a 4x2 so I can have the side panels and big exhausts...

Just don't try it with tankers on the back, any solid load, preferably something low.
The double rear axels are not just there for aesthetics, there are two types and both are fully working, the 6x2 has two rear axels one is driven but the other which has two wheels the same as the front wheels, steer, do an outside view of a 6x2 and turn the steering wheel and you will see. The other double rear axel is the 6x4, on this both rear axels are driven and both sets of wheels look the same, it gives you more pulling power and as others have said the double rear axels offer more stability.

finally got my skills to max
heres my home page, took me awhile to get over a million i guess ive had it before but the cost of upgrading trucks and stuff means it took alittle longer. IVe gone down the route of trying not too take out loans and ive not had to yet so im quite pleased with that
heres my truck list also
Currently running the scania R with the 3500NM engine mod, the volvo was what i started off with and i put 20,00km on it. All is going well my only wish was my drivers would earn more as theres a huge difference in my and there earnings
