Euro Truck Simulator 2 worthy of purchase

The game is great and has its flaws but you need to be able to buy more things in terms of garages and trucks but also some competition would be nice as it does get dull after about 130k miles, I like that they have DLC which is more detailed and hopefully they start doing mainland europe.

I don't know what the longest is but I myself have done Aberdeen to Budapest which took me around 3 hours-ish but time drifts away when listening to magic and playing ETS2

Yeah I know that feeling, I poured a glass of rum last night and before I was halfway through I already did 2-3 smaller jobs lol. I will try that route not sure I have done that one, ta.

Just noticed I have a weird bug. When I goto options > currency the drop down box is empty so I am stuck on euros, does anyone know where this is in the config files?

uset g_currency "0"

I thought that might be it but no idea what to change it to for GBP.

Location of that is:

Cheers

Have you installed the latest patch, 1.6.1 and if so did it fix your currency problem?

I'd never heard of this game until a week ago when I stumbled upon DaSquirrelsNuts YouTube channel after looking for some Sim videos, and I was hooked. Bought it and the Going East DLC there and then. Also running TSM (Truck Sim Map) and a few other mods like real physics.

Just built a really cool IR head tracker using a Sony PS3 EyeYou, FaceTrackNoIr, 3 IR LEDs and some other bits and pieces. It's quick, smooth and doesn't hog the CPU. The face tracking wasn't very good.

Just can't get off this game now. Lord knows when I'll play theHunteragain!

Managed to pick this up on steam with the going east pack. Starting is a slow process, but these updates have made it so much better than back in 1.2 :)

I've had this game a while now, and recently found the best truck in my opinion is the Volvo FH16.

I have a few mods running, namely:

Eurostation by Siroccoxp
RennpackVolvo
MegaStore_V1.3

ETS2_Truck_zpsdafe72c8.png

The MegaStore_V1.3 is, so far the best customising mod I've come across. I've recently got the DLC downloaded.....

Some Mod recommendations would be great though.

Got the new FH god this is a lovely truck. Wish it was a Volvo dealer round the corner and not a ****** Renault one would love to sit in a new FH >_>

New FH is very nice in game. Got bored of annihilating everything with 750hp in my classic FH16 so went for a 540hp this time.

Never got on with the Volvo - too fragile. Always fell off roads with Scania's. 680 MAN's are a good balance. But the 510 DAF is a great challange with hills in Poland DLC and ProMod's Scandinavia map, especially with a good engine sound mod.

I have several mods that have altered the traffic - no tractor/trailer unit mix is the same.

Anyone know where to get the new DLC cheap(not on steam, can I add it since I have the disc version from release?) I am weak and going to give in.

There was a bug in one of the older versions where the FH kept bottoming out, been fine since they fixed that. The MAN feels enormous and the engine sound does my head in. The FH16 makes a really good noise after it got properly recorded. The Scanias were the best modelled truck in the original build, the Volvo's are much better now.

Cost me less than £6 from SCS themselves...

I'm having to constantly restrict myself :p - Pulled 12T in a 540hp one at mostly 70mph.., yet did a job later with 18T in an R360 :(
