Euromillions

If you say you're going to win are you substantially affecting the odds that you could win ? :D

Okay guys if I win the lottery I'll give one lucky forum user a hundred grand if they can tell me in 500 words or less why they want it, I'll then pick the best answer and contact the winner how about that????

When I win, I shall pull up outside a random celebrity house, and proclaim that "I am significantly richer than you" and pull away smug :D

Spent the £10 I got for mowing someone's lawn. A well spent afternoon, I think!

Next time, I need to figure out how many tickets I would need to buy to have a one in a million chance of winning, as then I'll definitely win!

116 (Euromillions) or 14 for the standard UK lotto

That would be true if you got your money back when you lose. But you don't so yes you do 'win' your stake back.

No, you pay £50 to risk either losing it or make £500 profit.

If I invest £1000, and cash out later £2000, I have only 'won' £1000.

Semantics, when people get three numbers on the lottery they say "I won a tenner", they don't say 'I won 9 quid' do they?

That was my original point which seems to have been lost due to this silly digression. There's nothing wrong with saying you 'won' whatever the return is. If I'd had used the word 'profit' I would see your point.

so, who on here will reveal if they actually win the Jackpot?
I guess first post will need to contain conclusive evidence!

Would you have much choice.

People are going to be able to tell, when you go from a £300 car, rented house and crappy holidays. To a Lamborghini, mansion and round the world first class 5* trip.

Can you remember when that Scottish couple won £140m and they said they were going to keep their current car?

That win was wasted on that couple (who seemed fairly well off anyway).

I don't know what I would do with it if I won that amount.

Probably be in shock for about a week.

Then I would spend some of it on a nice car collection and a nice big garage to go with it, you know the sort of garage that has a colour scheme and a piano.

Thats just rubbish isn't it. The old "it's not going to change my life" brigade. Well why the **** did you enter to win a life changing amount of money!
