Different odds on the lucky stars as they're 1-10 or whatever, whereas the lottery are 1-48 per ball. I agree though, for the rare occurance of matching 4 numbers £10.20 is a slap in the face.

Put 49 lines on for work, and for the first time got absolutely nothing back.

Be another £2 each on Tuesday draw and hopefully better luck.
 
Been playing this in a syndicate at work, we've won every week so far, granted I think the biggest win was £12 but any day now... I've informed my manager that when it happens I will work my notice period. :p

I theorise that they don't want to encourage profit hunters in the sense that once it goes over 154 million you can gaurantee a profit by buying every combination as the odds are 76 milion to 1 . Of course you need to invest a 154 million in buying the combos for a profit of 6 IF nobody else wins.

Happenwd in Ireland when there were only 39 balls when the lotto was first introduced. Bloke worked out that only a million or so combos . Assembled a team and waited for the jackpot to rollover enough to make it worth his while. They bought 1000's of tickets every day and the lotto tried to stop them but failed and they won the jackpot. But so did one other person who just bought a couple of lines. But once they collected all 5 4 3 combos they still made a profit of 300,000.
