To be honest Messi's goals were just gifted to him a penalty and a deflected cross sat up for a tap in. He has seriously great games but last year despite the goal tally I think he played less well, he became a striker, out and out really and most of his goals came like that though with some fantastic finishing, the previous 3 years so so many ridiculous goals where he ran through half a team himself before scoring. Meh, I dunno just when people say another 2 goals it doesn't mean the same it did 2 years ago.
Either way, decent performance from Barca, great goal by Villa the pass from Cesc was great but he controlled it on the chest, one touch away from the defender but still towards goal and a cool finish, he's such a class little player.
Real, shocking all around, I will be pretty pee'd off if Di Maria doesn't get a huge ban, someone shoved him, barely even badly and he turned and threw the biggest punch I think i've seen tried in football, just a huge swing and the guy just ducked out the way(by luck). Ridiculous reaction, then he fell, sat straight up and started protesting his innocence, no injury, nothing, ALonso ran over pushed him to the ground said something then Di Maria started writhing around on the floor like he'd been shot or something. Pathetic ref, it was a straight red, even if he gave him a yellow he was already on one so would have been off.
Likewise Higuain kicked out after a bit of a barge, caught the player, could easily have seen red for it though it was tame in comparison to Di Maria.
Navas was pretty awesome getting to the box but final ball wasn't that good, from the chances made Sevilla should have won by a way bigger margin. Di Maria, Ozil, Alonso, Ronaldo, Higuain, Arbeloa, Khedira all stank, all terrible, really terrible.
I've said before that Mourinho seems to inspire a certain way of thinking, a certain style of team building that promotes short term success but seems to suck long term. Inter, who were winning before he joined, went one step further then completely and utterly fell apart. Chelsea fell apart, Real already seem to be falling apart. He got fired before he could have a bad season at Chelsea(he had a bad start to one though), he jumped ship before the same happened at Inter and he probably should have jumped ship before it happens at Real.
Half the Real team was always over rated, but throw in, over confidence, and something missing, maybe the hunger to win or the belief they need to try/train hard and they have become really awful overnight. Ozil/Di Maria rarely show up in the big games at all, why they still get starts against top 4/top Euro teams I have no clue. Alonso is always pap, Khedira gets around a lot but ultimately does very little. Ronaldo with no service and no interplay on the team is relatively easy to mark out of a game.... defensively they don't have a single top defender in the back four, four mistake prone, rash challenging, violent and stupid defenders.
