European Grand Prix 2011, Valencia Street Circuit - Race 8/19

Maybe he wants the challenge.
If RBR could win the title by allowing all other teams to compete in 2 extra races...it would be quite an achievement.

I remember MSc won the 1994 title, by effectively competing in 3 less races than D.Hill (disqualified after winning Spa 1994 and then banned for the next 2 races) and that was quite an achievement.

or he wants some time off and knows that a couple of races wont matter and they will still win the championship. I hope Vettel and RBR win it again this year as they do deserve it and Mclaren and the rest up their game for next year

RBR certainly deserve it.
They have been more creative in the way they have innovated and interpreted the rules.
They have produced a car which is consistently competitive, in race trim and have the best car in qualifying trim.

The scary thing about all this is that there is no reason why RBR shouldn't be on top next season as well. There are no radical rule changes in the offing and unless Ferrari/McLaren produce a car which is fast from the word go (not like this year, where they needed a few races to get into their stride), it could be tough going for them next year, too.

I wonder just how serious Hamilton is about moving teams?

He expects himself to be breaking all sorts of records, but right now, it is Vettel who is on course to actually break the records. What also must be on Hamilton's mind is that Vettel is still very young, so has plenty more seasons to go.

Is it even worth Hamilton moving? McLaren aren't exactly a cr@p team.

I have no idea about the budgets of RBR vs McLaren, but McLaren's headquarters certainly "looks" more hi-tech than anything else I've seen on the telly. It looks as though money is in abundance at Mclaren.

Hehehe.

10s of US$millions is A LOT of money...even in F1.

I believe many teams claim to be sticking to a budget cap, but IMO there is no way of accurately checking whether they are adhering to the budget caps.

Obviously the newer teams will have lower incomes than the more established teams.

Are you sure that RBR are spending the most?
If this is the case, they have increased their expenditure massively, going from a medium budget to a huge budget.

And taking Damon out in Australia after he had crashed :)

hehehe...yep.

It was still impressive never the less, because in the 3 races which MSc was denied the points, Hill got himself 30 points (as opposed to 3 second places - 18 points).

In 1995 of course, MSc wasn't banned or penalised and ended up winning the title by a big margin...as he should've done in 1994, but was prevented from doing so by the FIA (or FISA...or whatever they were calling themselves in those days).

That and D.Hill making a lot of unforced errors (crashing out of the lead at Hockenheim\Nurburgring, two collisions with MSc at Silverstone\Monza, two other spins at Spa\Suzuka). He admitted he'd lost it mentally that year, and it was likely the point where Frentzen was lined up as his replacement. Who then proceeded to screw up even more than Hill did.

Yep pretty sure, although that spend was less than Toyota's in 2008. I'll try and find the article - think it may have been in the Telegraph but I'm surprised not to see it on F1fanatic.

Mcalren have the cash because they invest in race and road car which bring jobs to the area.

This is why I think the WCC should only go to teams that has ties to the motor industry.
Mcalren will turn over £1bn a year in(mostly in exports) the next 4 years this will help the UK a lot.

I mean come on what does a fizzy drinks maker want with a WCC? ..that's right nothing...
