European Grand Prix 2012, Valencia - Race 8/20

As NathanE said, while you could put today down to poor judgement, there are other examples of when he has clearly had the red mist descend and deliberately moved into another driver.

Combine that with his ban and the supposed bribe in Monaco, and the questionable money that is funding his paid seat in F1, and all in all he is a very unlikeable package.

This. I also believe he dislikes Hamilton on a personal level. Perhaps because he is British, or dare I say the other thing...

The guy just radiates supreme levels of uncontrolled jealously, arrogance and aggression.

He made a racing mistake today, if he done it to anyone but Lewis then it would be a non-issue on here, talk about a over reaction.

Is that sarcasm?

No?

I've not seen anything that would suggest Maldonado has an issue with Hamilton because he is British or because he is Black.

Maldonados issues appear to be with whoever is overtaking him, or in his way. It just happened to have been Hamilton a few times.

Needs taking to the vets to be put down. Ugly monkey is very ugly.

There is nothing AT ALL to like about him.... Well his bird aint bad... I would give her the best 2 minutes of her life but that is about it.

Bit OTT.

Good to see road rage Maldonado dropped to 12th though no help for Lewis losing points, you wouldn't have such situations if not for the huge run off areas that drivers are constantly exploiting (cutting chicanes, running wide etc). Maldona would either have had to brake or find himself hitting the barrier if it had been Monaco, Hamilton had track position he should have realised that and backed off.

In interviews he always seems to have a massive issue with Hamilton. Then again he doesn't seem to like many of the drivers.

The best citations are Monaco Race and Spa Qualifying in 2011, and Monaco again this year when he rammed Perez. But especially the Spa. How he kept his FIA superlicense after Spa I will never know.

True, Spa and Monaco seem especially rash indeed.

This. Unfortunately for him as Skeeter says, an unlikeable package.

Maybe they're more alike than either would care to admit.

Indeed!

Yeah, I think he's just generally unlikeable and generally unliked, rather than having specific issues with specific drivers.

Its a bit of a shame, because he has shown moments of talent.

Absolutely, if he could curb the anger/aggression he could be decent in the future. I find it hard to see though, he seems like a very aggressive individual.

glad to see Maldonado got a penalty in the end, but it was a rather poor penalty tbh didnt schumacher get a five place grid penalty in barcelona for taking senna out? why didnt maldonado get the same?

I found the race quite good to day though, it was much better than the last valencia ones anyway :)

Yeah, given other similar incidents, including one in the same race between Vergne and Heikki, it is a very light penalty.

Maybe his dad got the chequebook out again :D

It shouldn't be a question of handing a penalty to Maldonado, someone should be ripping up his racing license. F1 making a mockery of itself yet again.
