EV general discussion

Sorry, you are a joke. What are you even talking about? What happens when a disabled bay holder moves house?

The 2 aren't even comparable.

This charging spot would be allocated to the specific house. EV owner applies and then gets it, what happens when the house owner changes and they don't have an EV?

You need a blue badge to use a disabled bay. How does a traffic warden known which car belongs to which house?
Are you the most pessimistic person on the planet. You really can't conceive of any possible way to have an individual parking spot - and assign it to an individual car.

How about something completely out there .... a house number. On the permit and the space. Kapow - mind blown.

Well, as this will be run by the council - and I expect the house owner doesn't want to continue paying council tax for the property - they'd probably inform them.

The same thing that happens when you move into a house that has a disabled bay outside and you don't have a blue badge...

Seriously?

It's nice to see Harry begin to 'get it'. Tesla are 6-10 years ahead, and the penny's beginning to drop with everyone. Fact is electric cars and mobility is a SOFTWARE problem, Tesla know this and are set up that way. Most legacy manufacturers are still stuck in the 80s, outsourcing to 20 different subcontractors trying to integrate 10 different bits of silicon and firmware.

When Tesla are able to manufacture a car in the hundreds of thousands for under £10k each - perhaps then he may have surpassed the legacy manufacturers. Those guys have a lot of experience catering for the masses - not just the privileged few.

It is ok I have no plans to go electric, I am sticking with my noisy smelly engines, just thought some might appreciate Harry's video as he is one of the best motoring journalist in the world. :)

Indeed, saw it before you posted it, he needs to brush up on his electrical knowledge though. ;)

As for your noisy smelly cars, if you ever have kids you might change your mind, or they might do it for you. :)

Around £33.5k

You spoiled it, I was waiting for the Bug person to answer with something silly like 13k. What's weird is if the £:$ rate was like it was in 2014 at its peak, and no 10% import tariff like the other manufacturers get away with, then an SR+ M3 would be ~£25k

No plans on kids but if I did then I'd be buying an Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio. :D

Sorry about that, I couldn’t help myself :D

it’s right in the ballpark for a lot of EVs when you consider the TCO, Model 3 SR+ is well in the mix.
