EV general discussion

Just check it's not in 'chill' mode..
Whilst this is the older model, and LHD, it's close enough to just quickly check:

I test drove an AWD a couple of years ago and found the acceleration a bit limp, hardly quicker than the ID.3 we had at the time, but on realising it was in chill mode, I switched it back to standard and it was nuts..
I believe they have a limiter on them anyway as its a trial but ill check!

I've currently got the Polestar 4 LRDM having come from a Model 3 LR. The software on the Tesla is slicker and just works. Polestar isn't bad but isn't as slick. But as a car, its a far better proposition. Smoother ride, quieter, better built, feels more premium, massive inside (and out!). Despite the 100kWh battery, the range isn't great.
When you say the range isn't great, how 'not great'?

Why? Just chill your foot and have the power available when you need/want it. It took me a couple weeks to get used to the throttle
i like to go pedal to the metal (not really but... )

nah, basically i wasn't used to the acceleration when i first got it (and this is coming from a 440i!)
so it's been set to chill ever since and i'm now accustomed to it
i've used it on sport a couple of times with friends for the lols, but that's about it

@Journey @Dis86 It's a Zoe GT Line+ R135 Rapid Charge EV50 2022 model.

It has 1 year of warranty (and about 5 more on battery) and 22k miles on the clock.

They did offer a 4 year extended warranty for £500. You recon I should go for that, I didn't realise they were unreliable I just assumed not much could go wrong on electric!

If the warranty is with Renault I'd say go for it, especially if you think you'll put on 25-40k miles in the next 5 years. I'd also ask what you pare paying in the first place, are you dead set on it, did you even consider other options?

Looking at the warranty is a vertu "motor assured" plan.

She's pretty set on the Zoe, it's at the upper end (£11K) but also seems to be the norm for a GT Line+ with low mileage so, yeah, there are cheaper ones available but it doesn't seem to be a rip off from what I can tell.

Edit: Actually she transferred the money to the dealer today so I would say is very set on it!

£11k is a lot for a Zoe - one below is £9.5k from a dedicated EV dealer, and there are plenty more examples with lower mileage.

You can get 22 plated Pug e208's for similar price £11k, and also some deals on the VW ID.3's where mileage is way less of a concern. Not sure how much shopping around and pre-investigation you did, or if it was just an impulse heart led purchase.
