For clarity, I was responding to @Simon on the previous page. I've edited to make that clearHe means EVs not charging cables
Yeh got the break down and pretty much £360 in materials (extra CU) £360 labour. Supply Cable would run under two floors - suspended wood from back of house to frontFor clarity, I was responding to @Simon on the previous page. I've edited to make that clear
Maybe after 15 year's price's may go down a little. In response to the thread title: When they're not all a stupid price and it's easily chargeable.
Not when I said I’d take the floor up so he just has to clip to the joists. Anyway soon eats into any fuel savings !That sounds about right then and not exactly a simple install!
Cable extra is like £30
I did 7.5m to 10m is £30 more.Ah you mean from MCU to the Zappi itself, that's was about £15 a metre for me, I thought you meant a new 10m tethered type 2 cable for the Zappi.
But you are if you move houseIndeed, although the way I looked at it is that the cable/installation is going to be in the house for decades so it’s not like you are a amortising the cost over your initial ownership period. EVs aren’t going to go away anytime soon.
Indeed but it’s swings and roundabouts. But you are if you move house
No different to a quooker tap or built in appliances tbh. Just the cost is insane if you ask me. Electric showers seem to be no effort and seems it’s a EV owner tax tbh. £700 for a fancy switch. But heyIndeed but it’s swings and roundabouts.
When the housing market gets back to being somewhat more stable, it will probably make your property easier to sell. Same goes for solar.
That's cheap both hypervolt and zappi quotes for me were £60 for 7.5 and 120 to 160 for 10m, perhaps they now sell it with those options by default rather than junking original cable for new one.I did 7.5m to 10m is £30 more.
