That’s fine and won’t change under the 6 hour changes.I charge my ionic every day the Corsa about once a week. I have the two set up in the Ohme app no idea if that will change. It still charges all over the place with lots of little bits here and there. Hopefully they sort that out before the end of the month.

That's exactly how it works. I sometimes plug mine in around 3pm and I often get half hour slots added to the schedule from 4pm onwards.I think that is exactly how it is supposed to work as they predict the most green electricity supply within the time you set it to be ready. If you set it to be ready for 8am, and plug it in at 16:00 the night before, and need to get 60% you might just get one or two 15-30 min slots as it would fill up in the off-peak as preference.

You can charge your second car in the fixed cheap period, you’d have to get a second charger or granny charger.
But if it’s genuinely adding £100/month a second charger will pay for itself in a year.
Likewise, if you don’t have solar, you could switch to Eon for a batter deal (export rates are half what octopus pays).
Unless you are getting lots of cheap slots now it should add no where near that to your bill. How may kWh are you putting into the cars in the week/month and how much does your home use?
About 130-140 miles a day at the moment. I usually end up adding about %70 a day charging to %90.
I have a granny charger that came with the ionic. The Corsa only does a few miles a day so it just gets charged at the weekend so not really an issue that would need two chargers.
No solar I looked at eon quickly will need to have a better look see what they offer.
140 miles is only about 40kwh, that should be achievable within the 6 hours (just).
I used 3.5m/kWh which may have been optimistic for your car/driving. It has also been quite cold so some of that may be preheating.
with Eon, I think you need a compatible car otherwise you are just stuck with the same 6 hours.
With the Mrs' Corsa VXR not really being up to the job with two growing kids. She wants something else, and has some specific criteria, no diesels, must be fast (sub 6 to 60 she says), must have 4 door, fit 4 adults comfortably with bags etc..
She has a short commute during the week or 6 miles each way, then some longer drives on the weekend.
When I bought my 330e, an electric car was totally off the cards, as we do occasional longer trips, usually where there is no charging and having the main car not really suitable for those trips was never going to work...
However, now she is keen to change hers, and we already have a "proper" car with the 330e, could a little long range model 3 be a good idea?

We really need to be cutting red tape and council restrictions on home charging options if you dont have a drive. I live thankfully 5mins from an ionity charger so with my 10 quid a month is 44p to charge per kw. But if if i could trench a cable or have access to the pavement right outside my house i could charge at home. But they dont let you cover the cable with safety mats as your not a worker. Cant do overhead for some reason and wont give you permission to trench or run a cable via the conduit for the fibre. Its just crazy. councils could be raking in extra money saying 500 quid we come dig a tiny trench and you can run a charger cable upto 7kw via it.
