EV general discussion

gross apparently (sal-sac)
Makes sense. The NHS fleet special offers are in general decently cheaper, there's no Tesla's currently on their offers, you can order one custom but that puts the price in the 1K gross range.

I'm going to take the BYD Sealion 7 I think, thats only 700 gross.

Might have to try a test drive. Current lease is up soon.

Google will be your friend. I it take you own a BYD?
Thought so.
Google shows a different story, the wife owns a byd and I have owned a mg for 5 years(catl battery), and guess what?

They haven't burnt down to the ground yet.

Yet 35,000 ice vehicles catch fire each year in the uk when you take away the 65,000 that are classed as arson.

Ps: either catl or byd will no doubt have manufactured your phone/ tablet/ laptop battery as well.
Get the extinguisher ready.

Definitely worth keeping the fire risk in mind when it comes to electric cars and especially worth keeping in mind when it comes to Chinese electric cars. Second issue is the CCP killing manufacturers.

And I thought it was the confirmation bias.
You are going to have to expand on this 'confirmation bias' given the above is based on actual evidence of well publicised issues LG has had with certain types of battery which it has supplied to a wide range of brands.

There hasn't been such issues with BYD and CATL, quite the opposite in fact.

I have no love for the CCP and their directly or partly owned companies like BYD and SAIC (MG), but this is our conspiracy theory tripe.

There has been recalls of the BYD blade and CATL cells and stops placed in orders. BYD even started a program to improve safety in 2025.

Are you also a BYD owner?
