Are you thinking about pick up? You'll have enough charge to get to a rapid charger
Nah just in general. I'm pretty sure I could make it home with the charge it comes with, it's like 30 miles or so.

Looking at £100 - £150 for a "new" used Tesla charger on ebay. "Up to 10 miles of range an hour" - so let's call it 6 (weather, current limiting, etc). That means for 30 miles of range, I'd need five hours of charging. That's a lot of tea & biscuits, if there's even a charger within 30 miles.
I'm venturing in to jpaul territory with my musing now though, I can feel the fog of decision paralysis settling in.
The mechanical link between plug socket is the issue, nothing to do with the cable size.just saying - but I'd consider an overspecced 20A cable for the lower resistance/drop - that's what I made up for 20M extension lead for 3KW pressure washer,
and internal house extension leads, bought a reel.
I think I'm getting closer to 2 in the Abarth
It's a lot of fun though.
I think that's part of my problem.
You don't buy a performance car to worry about fuel consumption no matter the fuel type, it does affect how you drive it though when a tank full costs near £100, but with a charge costing less than a pint the poor little Abarth is getting used and abused![]()
though it does have good ability in these conditions.Yup mine was 3-4 when it was warmer now seeing 1.5-2 absolutely terrible terrible drop off in the Abarth, I'm not even having much fun in it as roads are grimthough it does have good ability in these conditions.

Where would you plug that in though? Plug rapid far easier. Beyond the native Tesla nav/charging Download Zap Map as a starter point for charging, super useful.
Conversely I find the brakes a bit of a weak point on the road, they work but feedback is a bit wooly especially cold, it did improve after a track stint just not very good cold, which is where they are most of the time, I jump in my Volvo and almost cause an injury with the amount of braking on inital bite that can do with same pedal pressure.
A pad change would likely improve things.

Tesla does as well. 6A minimumI don’t know about Tesla
Not sure as my Polestar 2 came with one in 2023 before everyone stopped it. I would also get a heavy duty extension cable of 10m length or so to make it usable.
I’ve used one of these for 3 years now as there’s never a 3 pin plug near enough to the car, and as long as you reduce the current below 10 amps you’ll be fine.
It’s handy when you have a couple of hours free electric but 2 EV’s in the household - every penny counts!![]()
Oh i thought you were specifically talking about the drive back from S'ton. As @Penfold101 really. Not something I'll ever intend to rely on or use in anger but good to have just in case.
Before I got mine I was generally annoyed about the lack of included granny charger, 4 months on there has not been one time I would have found a use for it. I wouldn't bother unless you dont or cant have a home charger installed!
