EVE vs WOW

Untrue... Irrespective of your control method (you can move around pretty erratically with the mouse), your position is always likely to be stored as a simple vector value. 'Tis perfectly feasibly, but as a mentioned, it was probably omitted for other reasons.
Yes, but that vector will be getting modified continually, most likely about 10 to 100 times per second, in order to maintain smooth motion of ships, whereas with EVE's control system, you're only modifying this vector each time you double click somewhere. Now, you may be able to do that about 10 to 20 times per second, but that's not actually necessary, and people just set a course and leave it at that.

thats a pretty good price :)
any recomendations for starters?
should i mine or bounty hunt?
Leave bounty hunting till you've joined a decent player corp and have a nice ship. Mining or agent missions are your best bet at first :)

Servers is down apparently. Bah.

Like they do every day at 12pm :p every day the servers go down for an hour (officially - they often come back up before an hour) for database maintenance :)

Damn, there goes me playing properly out the window. I start work at half 1 :(

i think the price for EvE is disgusting tbh , its like £10.16 or some crap like that, which is way to much and more then most other mmorpg's.

You don't have to pay it :) I pay just over £18 a month for two accounts

I've probably spent more on games like Civilization IV and the like over the last two years and have got hardly any fun or game play out of them - I have played thousands upon thousands of hours on Eve :) It's well worth it imo - especially having a company as interested in the game and players rather than money (cough EA)

Didn't stop you paying it for over a year :)

Plus all other MMO's make you pay for 'expansions' where as EVE/CCP do not.

Ive played both for at least a year.

Currrently Ive cancelled my Eve sub and Im playing about 4hours+ a night on WoW.

TBH, its solely do to who you play with. The corp I was with, the members slowly dropped out due to rl/game issues. However I got really pee'd off with the way CCP only care about the large alliances and 0.0. So after nearly 2.5 years of playing, I quit.

I might come back if they bring in some factional warfare (with funky rewards like cool ships and mybe titles. I like the idea of being a Captain in the Amarr navy), that would get my sub back. But I bet that will take as long to put in as the Titans did.

In WoW, Im in the largest Horde guild on my server, going on regular raids with friendly people and having a laugh in the process. If I want to do some solo content, then i can. If I want to do some PvP, I can without waiting for hours on end.

So for now, IMHO WoW > Eve. But try both if you can and give them both about a month to decide which you like. IMHO a week isnt nearly enough to experience either game.

I've played EvE for the 14 day trial and wow on and off since the day it came out. For me WoW is much better but thats mainly due to the fact that i play with 2 good freinds of mine everytime i play which adds a whole new level, coupled with the fact im in a good bwl guild means there is always something to do, either end game raids with the guild or real world pvp/ ganking with my freinds :)

I think I signed up and pretended to be american or European or something because I only seem to pay about £8 a month for EVE.
