Even more Star Wars films coming.

What Star Wars really needs is a few movies that are way darker in tone and/subject matter and a tad more brutal when it comes to showing the realities of being hit with massive bolts of energy or slashed with lightsabre - much like what Deadpool is to the X-Men/MCU.

What star wars needs is to not be owned by Disney ;)
Disagree, they just need to shift it from Kathleen Kennedy and those currently associated.
The cartoons seem to do well, and lore addicts tell me they are good.
They with proper script writing and employment of tried and tested directors could make great films.
Disney/Marvel managed it.

No doubt Kathleen Kennedy is poison to star wars. Her PC force is female BS is killing it.

But I think if the rights were owned by a serious film company, they wouldn't let her anywhere near it.

Rogue One touched on it with some of the themes running through the movie and that end Vader scene, would like to see more of the same tbh.

For me Rogue One is the best of the recent movies, i've even started to warm to Solo a little, it at least at it's heart feels proper Star Wars.

I reckon some slow mo removal of limbs with a lightsaber would work pretty well. Seemingly if there's no blood (which is we all know as nerds, you don't get from lightsaber wounds due to them being cauterised:p) it can be a 12 so still appeal to younger audiences. It's win win, also more pew pew in space, less Mary Poppins though.
