memphisto said:why not give your opinons then rather than rubbishing others ?
dmpoole said:Bon Scott was AC/DC and Highway to Hell was their defining moment.
dmpoole said:Err - I thought I did or didn't you read it?
King4aDay said:Yeah, but you also rubbished someone else's. You even used the word rubbish. For the first time ever in my 890 posts, have a rolleyes!
memphisto said:thats what I'm getting at DMpoole has going by his posts inhere a huge stockpile of records / tracks by bads i havent even heard about never mind can comment on so if someone is going to give opinons on rock bands etc it should be him as he probably is in the know about most of them

however in this thread all I saw was him jumping on other peoples opinons rubbishing them and then giving his own.
what I was getting at was, why doesnt he list a few of his fav bands and there defining moments for us all to see ? rahter than criticising other peoples opinons.

JimmyEatWorms said:The Manics really had "defining" albums. Firstly, The Holy Bible was really a culmination of what they stood for as a band in their early years and is one of the darkest, most honest and frankly disturbing albums I have heard. Everything must go defined the new "post-richie" manics. A lighter, brighter band without the weight of the world on their shoulders. It's impossible to say one is more "defining" than the other IMO as they define two completely different bands in two different eras (albeit only a couple of years apart).

PAz said:I would say you need to swap BITUSA and BTR around there...BITUSA was Springsteen's real catapult into the big time, BTR was more his defining moment and one which kept him signed on with the record company. Sure it brought him a big following, but BITUSA brought wayyyyy more fans in then BTR due to its more commerical/poppy/mainstream appeal of the songs.
