Everybody's Golf (PS3)

How does it conpare to Mario Golf on the N64? It's still my benchmark for great golf games.

Would you believe they play in a nigh on similar way? Everybody's Golf has a new advanced shot system to take shots, but if you use the basic shots (same as previous Hot Shots games) this is the same interface as the Mario Golf game on N64. I am not sure which came first, but certainly last time I played Hot Shots on PSP I did think it was similar to the Mario Golf game on my mates N64.

I have not played the Mario game for years though, so my memory is sketchy.

God I hope my copy turns up tomorrow so I can get a game. The demo's started teasing me and I managed a hole-in-one on the par 3 course.

Watch the moving dots on the "grid" that appears on the green. As far as I can see it is trial and error (there are no advanced views of the greens or slopes that I have found). The faster the dots move in a direction, the more inclined the green is in that direction. I haven't read the manual but this seems to work for me.

I am playing this game more than GT5:P (Although I played the Japan Prologue already so not in a rush for GT5:P).

Anyone fancy a multiplayer game tonight? 9 holes can easily be done in 15 minutes.

do you mean the dot for pace which gets further away as the power increases?

From what I can gather on the demo, it is trial and error. You have to move your angle in the opposite direction to which the white dots are flowing. How much by depends on how fast the dots are going. If the dots are coming toward you, you need to put more power on your swing as you are going uphill and vice versa.

No, he means the little moving dots on the green. The indicate the direction and speed of the slope.

If they're moving really fast in one direction then it's a big slope.

It gets better with practice, I can judge my putting quite well now but at first I was pretty poor at long distance putting.
