Everybody's Golf (PS3)

From what I can gather on the demo, it is trial and error. You have to move your angle in the opposite direction to which the white dots are flowing. How much by depends on how fast the dots are going. If the dots are coming toward you, you need to put more power on your swing as you are going uphill and vice versa.

im a bit confused now , because the only dot i see on the green is the one for distance (the one that disapears the more the power)

No, he means the little moving dots on the green. The indicate the direction and speed of the slope.

If they're moving really fast in one direction then it's a big slope.

It gets better with practice, I can judge my putting quite well now but at first I was pretty poor at long distance putting.

i must be a bit blind , i might have a look later when i play it again

cheers

you don't see a load of small dots on the green kinda like someone has lobbed a load of ballbearings onto the green to show you the contours?

maybe you've switched em off

Look 25 secs into this video

you should see a grid on the green and that grid should have moving dots on it (hard to see in the youtube video).
Edit:
<---2:15 into this video as well.
I should be around this evening, I'd definitely be up for a game.
OK, I think you are on my list already.

Played the demo this morning.
What a stunningly beautiful and peaceful game it is. From the demo alone I'd say it's better than any of the other 3 I own, really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately I can't afford the £40 asking, but can certainly see myself picking it up when it becomes cheap enough.

£30 online! Still, that's a lot of money if you don't have £30 :p

Yeah. I had to trade games in to get Football Manager 2008 the other day, have £8 credit. so could get it w/ a staff discount + £8 off, but if I'm being honest, I'm looking at UT3 first.

I had a go of the demo earlier too and thought it looked lovely. One thing that bugged me was it shows you exactly where to stop the power with a little red flag above the bar, rather than leaving you to work it out. Not an issue with the advanced shot, but I like the old power bars. I also couldn't find a way of seeing or altering the balls trajectory before you take the shot - is this possible?

It's not a Mario Golf beater for me - I don't like the camera and it's simpler - but a bit more time could change things.

Found that very dull :(

/Dad mode

Thought about getting a job till you get something you want? :p Plenty going at our place!

I'd love a job, but there is nothing around me and I don't drive!
Saying that, not hard to get to Darlington from Redcar as it's only about 4 stations away.

Weird,

On the full version you don't have this flag to indicate what percentage power you need to hit (I know as I could do with an aid like that!!). For me you have a percentage bar to 100% and you know the maximum your club would hit, the in-between distances is down to practice.

You can alter the section of the ball you hit by holding down d-pad after you pick power, and also if you select accuracy (second button click) with X you get normal distance, you press CIRCLE you will reduce power a bit, and if you hit Triangle you will increase power (This is if you have overjudged your first click).

However, I got these as "bonuses" so I have no idea if there is other bonuses like the aftertouch that you are implying (I think). I only [played the Japan demo last year i think, and possibly that was slightly different.

I'd love a job, but there is nothing around me and I don't drive!
OT: I can't believe there is a part of the UK with no jobs at all (or within a commutable distance)!!!!!! (Supermarkets, Pizza joints etc).

There is around the corner. But it's on the dodgiest estate in the area where I don't fancy putting myself in the face of danger for minimum wage.
And let us not forget, the majority of work around Redcar is at the power plants.

I work at Barclaycard in Stockton, 5 minute walk from Thornaby station. We're always looking for people. Sure, it's call center work but the pay is pretty good and you could buy some games then! :p

Didn't know you worked in Stockton! That's just down the road practically.

There is! A little red flag shows up on the display to show you where the hole is in relation to the power of the shot if you're using a club that has the power to take you past the hole.
