Time to renew the insurance for my S3 - have done the usual shopping around (including Sky, Flux etc) and the two current insurers that are ahead are Elephant and Admiral (based on online quotes)

Does anyone here have any experience with the two above? My car is unmodded but I might mod it if the above insurers won't pull my pants down.

I'm 29 and drive other car would be a nice as well.

Admiral are a nightmare when it comes to a claim

Elephant, Admiral & Bell are all sister companies IIRC.

/edit - The above statement is not factual, it is simply my opinion/experience of Admiral. Infact they are brilliant, [TW]Fox even says so.

I am with admiral as it was the chepest for me, I haven't had to claim so cant really comment on them but their application process was quite painless.

I've been with Elephant for a few years, each year shopped around, gave them a call and got a lower quote even though the renewal was a bit pricier (£10).

Phone admiral, get their quote ref and phone Elephant with that quote ref and they will beat it even further on more occasions than none.

You get DOC with Eelephant too, I do. You only get it if you're 25> though.

What I can tell you about Admiral is that their Customer Service is just excellent.
UK call centres for a start - immediately there is no language barrier.

On the couple of occasions I've spoken to them they have been polite and extremely helpful, could not fault them at all.

Thankfully I've not had to make a claim so cannot coment on this side of things, but dealing with them has been very easy.

I'm with admiral, I've not claimed with them, but when a guy crashed into me they just passed me onto albany assistance to sort it all anyways. And depending what mods you want to do, they will likely have your pants down. They did for me, they were cheap at standard.

Admiral do cover mods, but only to a certain extent. If you have too many they won't cover you, they'll also refuse cover for specific ones.

We have a multi-car policy with them. Had a no-fault claim go through them with no issues at all.

I can't comment on the claims process but their customer service for me has been excellent. And in my experience they have been cheaper by some margin for the past couple of years. Last year was the first time ever where I couldn't get a cheaper price from another provider than the renewal. Seems like a fair few others are experiencing the same.

I've been using Admiral since I was 18, never had a problem, claim process was a breeze and they are always the cheapest of the big guys :)
