explain why Bodybuilding isn't gay

As opposed to watching a bunch of over paid mincers running around chasing a ball, then if another mincer taps them on the shin they hitthe ground rolling about like a little girl cry for mommy.........

*just making a sweeping statment like the OP

And I train as a BB'er, never intend to compete or anything, jsut love the gym.

Out of interest, how many of your hetero guys would jump at the chance to go to watch men wearing thongs and fake tan while flexing their muscles on stage? :D

I wouldn't get excited or jump at the chance, but I would go because I find it impressive and have a full appreciation of the effort required to achieve what they have. Furthermore I have friends who do it and would want to support them, lastly, there are often a tonne of lovely looking women around too. :)

I'd rather go to a bb show than a footie match (but I hate football). :)

So fitness models are lesbians because they show off their bodies.
Or glamour models who show off theirs, lesbo?
Nuts girls - lesbo's?

They are showing off their bodies to MEN though, heterosexually. How many women read Nuts?

Women do not find freak bodybuilders attractive, the same way men do not find anorexics attractive. It's a diseased, unnatural look.

I can't say I'm a huuuge fan of bodybuilders or anything but I respect the hell out of what they go through to get themselves looking like they do.

I'm sure some of them are gay..I'm sure a lot of them aren't.

What's the point of this thread?

Apart from the initial closet case? :D

and bb'ers are much bigger versions of the people who casually train, I don't see your point

Because you've made an incorrect assumption in that not everyone who trains is aiming to bulk up in that way or build useless muscle.

I used to be in the armed forces, I'd train to carry a very heavy bergan over long distances etc... to push myself further in my training doesn't involve becoming a gym queen. I don't think these guys who are stupidly large would cope very well with say training in brecon.

I currently do a bit of muay thai at an MMA gym - the pro fighters who train there are doing what I do casually but at a much much higher level - I don't see any of them turning into gym queens either.

Keeping fit and training doesn't have to involve 'body building' - strength training is one thing and will inevitably lead to an increase in muscle mass but competitive 'body building' as a specific goal isn't the obvious end result of 'training' in general - rather it is a weird subculture and as the OP has joking pointed out - a bit gay...

Kwerk, you assume all bodybuilders are muscle bound freaks.
You also assume all bodybuilders do these types of shows. I think your problem is the guys who do these shows, not them in general, but you band them all together in "Hurr durr Bodybuilding is gay"

You have extremes like Ronnie Coleman, sure, but mostly you have people like Luke Guldan, who have a fair amount of muscle and don't carry the roided out look, and look like a normal guy, but just bigger.

Who do you think women would prefer;
Luke Guldan:

Or you:

Tell me with a straight face this isn't gayer than two lads fighting over a sack of ****s.

There are posters in this thread who aspire to be that guy!

You obviously like it, as you're showing clear obsession over the matter.

Women don't find extremely smart guys attractive... SO WHAT'S THE POINT IN BEING SMART? Must be gay. What makes you think 'freak bodybuilders' do it for the girls btw? It's a pretty torturous route to take if you're only after a bit of pasty.

The whole BDD thing is a whole different subject, but touching on it shows you realise that Bodybuilding isn't for other people, it's, in some cases, a personal quest because of deep seated personal issues

Since when do girls not like smart guys?

I know lots of gay men, a small percentage go to the gym.
I've been to lots of gyms, a small percentage of fellow gym goers have been gay.
I'm not talking about fitness first or similar, I'm talking about proper gyms where bb'ers, pl'ers and strongmen go.

Don't let the gayness over ride your mind though ;)
