Hi all.

Just bought a Pluscom 3.5" sata to usb caddy.

Installed a Samsung F3 1TB drive and the computer picks up a removable device but does not pick up the drive inside.

I am using Windows 7 64bit. It should be just plug and play but is having none of it.

Any ideas?

You've got the power supply connected to the caddy?

Was the drive definitely working OK before you put it in the caddy?

Is the drive formatted?

If not can you see it as unallocated in Disk Management?

Yes the power cable is connected and turned on.

I have taken the drive out and plugged in directly to the motherboard and picks it up fine.

In Disk Management it does not appear in the top column along with my SSD etc but underneath.

I have gave it a drive letter.

have you enabled usb storage in bios? i think you have to do that on gigabyte boards,and/or usb legacy storage

Yes USB storage is enabled in the bios.

Tried another HDD in the caddy and still the same.

Going to try another caddy and see if that works.
