F@H Cruncher Slug Out - Mk. II ** In Progress **

2x 3.7ghz for this :)

Got some crap WUs atm on both cores, gonna take ages to finish.
If the deadline for the wus is after the end date of the cruncher slug out, just pause them and setup new projects. That is what I am going to do.

I'll have a go at this. I get home on Monday and don't leave again until the 10th of July.

It'll probably be the X2 3800. I will stick the Delta on the Si120, take the side off the case and point the old faithful 14" deskfan at the motherboard and see if I can get it stable at 2.85+ :D (I'm sure I had some BH5 RAM somewhere but I have no idea which rig it's in :o ).
Competition name will be CSO2_Welshwhiskysucks.

I'm not sure if i should put my opty in for it or not.
Its got to have its board sent back at some point and i can't run it 24/7 just at the moment either.
Has anyone got something inferior to an opty [email protected] running 12/7 so i'm not the worst in the race?

You've convinced me... only problem is my little power outage on thursday. When will we be starting?
Perhaps i could start a day early as i won't have any power at all on thursday...

Thats a pain.
I have no power till 3 in the morning and i won't be up till around 10 on friday.

Normally if i started at 8 i'd be folding till about 12 so thats 4 hours lost.
I suppose thats not too bad.
I'm also thinking if i order a seasonic today i could have it in by friday and have a go at running 24/7 for a while. Need the seasonic for the low noise so i can sleep.

Got to think of a name too...

how's about a Barton 2500 at stock? that's all I'm gonna have I think - still should be fun seeing if 'ol faithful can give anything a run for it's money :p

any reason its not at 3200?
not met a 2500 that can't do 3200

I think i'm going to go for CS02_Magic_Smoke

I assume rich will be reporting on this in his news?

edit: System spec:
Opteron 175 @ 2.5 (might take it to 2.6)
Not on 24/7 to begin with.

Oh, just one thing I should point out. No-one said you can't have more than one entry, just as long as each individual entry abides by the rules.

I might enter my Dual Xeon rig as well, just to see how badly it gets pwned. :D

I can send it to you and you can take it out for drinks if you like :p

Firstly it'll only do about 182MHz on a good day, it's locked and that's about all you can get from it with FSB - I was so sure it would do 200MHz that I even bought new RAM thinking it was something to do with the cheap TwinMOS-chipped stuff only to find that it stuck at the same max speed.
Secondly it'll be going into a board which the max supported FSB is only 166MHz anyway with no voltage adjustment and generally rubbish overclocking ability.
Thirdly - it'll end up either in the loft or in a south-facing room, gonna have enough problems keeping it cool as it is :o

So yep - afraid it may aswell run stock - I'll see if I can squeeze any more out but it's highly doubtful :(
