F@H Cruncher Slug Out - Mk. II ** In Progress **

Where are you getting the ETA from? Mine's 13% through on this old hunk of junk and it's got less then 12 hours left accoring to FahMon - SSE is kicking in alright?

From FahMon. Since i posted that its gone from 4 % to 9% now, sse has started yes.

I think i found the reason though. I had a look at task manager and the other WU running (on the 4400) is taking up 80-90% of the CPU, does that mean its running on both cores? It was running at 50% before this WU started. Although i dont mind as thats a 376 pointer. :)

Are you sure it's picking up both cores? That doesn't sound right to me.

You mean task manager? If so yep it is, its showing both cores at 100% on the performance page and single core applications never usually go over 50%. Its not the first time something like this has happened, my BBC Climate experiments did this on and off a lot as well. I did find it a little bemusing but i dont think theres a problem.

It's not supposed to happen at all (well, sometimes it'll get to say 55%, but that's all). I've never had any rigs do this and I've got one dual core (Yonah), one dual CPU (Xeon), and several HT boxen. Sounds like something's not quite right to me (mobo, BIOS, chipset drivers, I know not which).

Climate models can hog both cores if you're watching the pretty graphics, but that's still two processes.

Ok well i just reinstalled the dual core drivers from AMD and restarted and they are back to 50% each. FaMon now says just over 8 hours so that seems better. i' stll a little bemused but oh well, i'll have to see if it goes back to 80-20 again. :o

Mr. CSO2_duncandonuts, Sir. Your Stanford stats are showing four active processors. Could it be possible that you have accidentally broken the prescribed competition rules?

Damn Americans (expats included) :p

Oh, and CSO2_Cereal-Cruncher is showing three active, same applies.

I'll waive the incident if you let us know how many points the offending processor(s) claim (assuming there are any such offending processor(s)). Or we can just divide your final points by the number of processors and multiply by 2, your call. :)

:p

Maximum of one motherboard, one or two cores (i.e. single dual core or dual single core are OK, but dual dual core is not), hyperthreading allowed regardless (counts as single core), with or without overclocking.

I have dual single core with HT, which is allowed I believe. Hence 4 processors. ;)

Yup, that's fine then. I didn't allow for the HT clause. Knew I should have taken precautions to prevent you from running away. Wonder if BillyTheImpaler is game for some cheap internal flights. :p :D

The same may apply to the other one I found, in which case I apologise in both cases.

I also have a Dual Xeon, but it runs HT-less these days because it's over three years old and I'm afraid of it catching senile demeture if I tax it too hard. They're a tad expensive to replace, and I currently have £90 cash and a lot of debt to my name (paid Monday). :(

No sweat. I figured you had forgotten about the HT angle

If you still have problems, you may need a hotfix...

http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=983781

Just had a look this morning and its gone back to 80-20. Ill have a look at the microsoft hotfix, other than that i dont know whats happening. I never have any performance issues so dont even know if its affecting anything. :o

And what website are you lot using to compare scores? Thanks

In an internet cafe in Kirkwall just now.

Had a quick look and I'm not far behind Dunc - even with his HT :p

My little beauty seems to be doing quite well.

Looks like Stanford aren't too keen on the word sucks in my username  EOC have no problems with it though.

Good luck to all.

Everyone else must be on 24/7 'cause i'm getting trampled on... :(
yep mate - pretty sure all are on 24/7

I hope you have something finishing in the next couple of hours or the newsmeister will crush joooo

It seems the barton quite likes the Amber WUs - getting 150ppd from a p1809 worth a whopping 153 points (as opposed to the 90ish ppd of the two gromacs WUs I've had so far)

great work on the stats Mister Berserker sah!!!

Well as i sleep less than 2 metres away from my pc i can't do 24/7 just yet thanks to a faulty seasonic psu that had to be returned. I'll be getting a new one shortly so i can have another go at running overnight.

I've also got an incurable bf2 addiction again ;)

bah kids today - at one time I was sleeping just metres away from 5 crunchers running 24/7 :)

though I must admit that if I came home a bit worse for wear and passed out on the bed in my clothes and forgot to open the window it did get a tad on the uncomfy side  :p
