F1 2013 Testing: Week 1 Jerez

Gotta respect the front jack men. Standing infront of 60mph traffic hoping they hit their braking points.

Force India mechanic escapes serious injury after Rossiter incident

A Force India mechanic escaped serious injury after being hit by test driver James Rossiter at Jerez on Thursday morning.

Rossiter missed his braking point when returning to the pits following an installation lap on the third morning of pre-season testing in Spain.

After failing to stop in time in front of the garage, he clouted the mechanic who was holding the front jack, throwing him into the air.

The mechanic was taken for medical checks, but a team spokesman confirmed to AUTOSPORT that he has been given the all clear, but was bruised and shaken.

Rossiter was able to resume testing and is pencilled in to run all morning, before handing the car back to Paul di Resta for the afternoon session.

Not first thing in the morning..button got his time in the afternoon..but then you already knew that...here we go again...

Calm down no need to get upset. I have no idea when Jenson did his best time or when Grosjean done his best time so don't get on the high horse.

You was told last season about your posts..please don't start doing it again...please

Told what by who? and do what?

You seem intent on causing problems, you have already attacked arknor now here you go again, I fail to see what I said that causes you to react in such a way?

Perhaps you could just tell me what time of day Jenson and Grosjean set their fastest times rather than seek confrontation?

Should you have not looked before you posted? simples really...back on topic.

So what time did they set their fastest laps?

So you never knew that button

"Button lost mileage with a fuel pump failure in the morning, but was otherwise encouraged by his day."
Read autosport\F1 ect...

"Grosjean who led the way in the morning went faster on a series of short runs on the soft tyre in the afternoon."

Interesting that Massa put together a consistent run of high 1:19s, whereas Rosberg on a similar run was in the 1:22s.

Obviously fuel loads vary, blah blah, can't take anything from testing etc.

I would love to know what exact speed a car is doing when it's front wheels touch the spot where it's rear wheels end up. Must be scary seeing a car coming at you at maybe 10-15mph knowing it's only got a car length to stop in before it hits you!

I know you cant tell a huge amount from testing times but the Mercedes certainly doesnt look slow.

Looks like it could be up there.

Especially in the rain, or at places like Bahrain/Korea where the pitlane is covered in mud/sand and there's little grip.

Massive balls of steel

On the face of it they look up there, but its a bit more impressive when you realise they are 2 days and ~150 laps behind everyone else. Rosbergs set the 4th fastest time of the whole week.

Yes its testing, etc etc etc.

Hopefully after today Rosberg can give a good overview of how this car compares to last year.

At the other end of the field it looks like yet another massive disappointment from Caterham :(
