F1 2013 Testing: Week 3 Barcelona

It is a bit since you won't be allowed to do it at a race weekend now.

Maybe they want to gather data on how the DRS performs under a variety of conditions since not every race will have DRS zones like Barcelona or they want to compare the data with data gathered last year. Doing representative laps is not the only valuable testing.

Well that is testing over and done with, seems not long ago we were all eager to see the new cars unveiled :)

DUKE: Are Sky going to start using onboard HD cameras this season, they were talking about bringing them in last year.

Last time I heard, FOM were testing them, not heard anything since but not long until we find out.

HD cameras won't guarantee HD coverage though. The races were filmed in HD for a couple of years before the FOM stream was broadcast in HD. But it's moving in the right direction.

Time for a prediction thread?

Forgot to put a cover on the whole thing :p

Did anyone else hear the commentators earlier saying that in their fueload adjusted analysis, RBR, Mclaren, Ferrari, Lotus and Merc are all within 2 tenths of each other? If true it's gonna be so good.

commentators have xray vision and know more than the teams themselves do it really is amazing.
clark kent is that you?

fuel adjusted is the biggest bunch of BS I ever heard.

only the teams know how much fuel they had in the car.
trying to estimate fuel loads of the nanosecond when even 1 laps worth of fuel costs you a few tenths.... really?

nothing wrong with trying to predict the grid order but trying to suggest theres anyway of knowing fuel loads and the gap between the teams is just taking a stab in the dark

Ted is awesome, quite frankly. I do hope sky pick up on the good feedback they're obviously getting from these testing notebooks and let him geek out a get a bit "techy" during race weekends. Gotta love the development cubicle :)
