F1 2015 - Teams and Drivers - Who goes where?!

Vettel will need to beat Kimi hands down next season like alonso has this season to keep some of his reputation.

Can only see alonso going to Ferrari, which leaves button out on his backside unfortunately.

As I said in the race thread.

"The dirty Germans chucked himself out the pram cos his toys didn't work anymore"

Ha!

I'm a bit surprised at the timing but not that surprised that Vettel is leaving for Ferrari. He's long had his eye on Ferrari and after getting his reputation utterly destroyed by Ricciardo this season he really needed to do something to change things up.

Alonso to McLaren is looking like a done deal. I'm surprised that there isn't bad blood there after his last season with them but I guess F1 is an essentially pragmatic sport. Alonso must be hoping for a strong delivery from Honda but the deal makes great sense for McLaren regardless; they need a strong development driver and the last years of Alonso's career should help them pull themselves back towards the sharp end.

I wouldn't choose any of the Ferrari drivers assuming they get vettel and kimi
Second rated drivers from both teams in one.
I think vettel had more potential than kimi
Better to take a risk on Bianchi

I'll update the OP later.

Not surprised by the Vettel news but think he wil regret his decision.

Talk of Alonso taking a year out, surely he will go to Mclaren which means Button's F1 career is over.

The only chance Button has for next year is if the top teams have to run a 3rd car if the bottom teams don't make it.

He's won all there is to win at Red Bull. The only thing left would have been to top Schumacher's records.

Everyone has said to prove himself as a great he needed to do it away from Red Bull (and Newey), so now he's gone off to do it. It's the brave choice, but you need to keep challenging yourself and it was crystal clear in the winter that his priorities had changed. I'd have liked to have seen what would have happened for another season against Ricciardo though, especially if the car was closer to the front.

It sounds entirely possible that Ferrari will have an all-new lineup next season. While Kimi has a deal, it sounds as though both parties would be considering going their separate ways, again.

I think he pretty much had to. Another year being humiliated by Ricciardo would have broken him and utterly trashed his reputation. This way he has a chance to rebuild things at another team. If he can win there it would go some way to restoring his reputation as an F1 great.

Pretty much, yeah. Shame, I liked the chap but he was never going to be able to keep his seat at a top team if there was another candidate who was truly top tier.
