I used to play with a wheel and it is a lot easier that way, but for the past 2 years I've played F1 games exclusively with a controller and it's fine once you get used to it.
 
Watched the F1 quali today and was amazed that all the gear changes matched pretty much perfectly with the game. Even the "grey area" corners, like the last corner at Singapore - some were driving it in 5th one time and in 6th another. COdies have put a lot more effort into this than I gave them credit for :)
 
To me the whole point of Codies F1 game is offline, with career, all the interteam dynamics and so on :)

EmptyBox' review - he's a sim racer and not played any F1 games since GP4, in fact fully expected to refund this one on Steam... He didn't refund and says he's "blown away" - I agree :) (but I also didn't play previous codies F1)

 
Has any bright spark got this working with VR yet? Gutted they didn’t release this without native VR - Fingers crosses for next year.

I assume it works with the Logitech G920 wheel?
 
I heard there was an unofficial patch somewhere for VR but made by a 3rd party and not necessarily fully working yet.

I use a G920 also.

I personally map the clutch pedal to the brake, I find you have to really press on the brake with the G920? Do you get the same?

That’s a great idea - Yeah my break pedal takes some pressing too.

I’ll have to check out the VR patch :)

I got the 3drap brake mod off eBay, works great. Standard brake pedal is useless.

I would have thought the curve on the potentiometer makes it even better.

Not sure tbh, but I do know it makes it a million times better and can really dial in my braking now.
 
Had this a week now, playing on a PS4 controller and I'm enjoying it. Until I got to Monaco...

The Lowes/Hotel hairpin is impossible! I do 50% races and the concentration to get it right every time is unreal. Surely others are having this issue?

Monaco is definitely one of the hardest tracks in all the F1 games (in my opinion). I really struggle also...
