Who wouldn't want to get away from Helmut. He seems like a right ****.
That does leave RB a bit screwed. Max is massively inconsistent in terms of bringing home good points. Sainz would like be more consistent but slower, but he wasn't particularly getting on with Helmut when he was TR either, so might prefer another team.

How about Nirei Fukuzumi and Tadasuke Makino for Red Bull and Torro Rosso, both drivers in F2 with super license points.

What’s sad is, ric deserves a top drive imo i.e Merc or Ferrari
Both teams have weaker second drivers but want the quiet life of a number 2. It makes sense politically but is a shame.

Didn't see that one coming and looks like a backwards step to me. So, if Sainz is off to McLaren it would be good to see Gasly promoted to RB. He has consistantly got that Torro Rosso higher up than it should be and deserves a chance in a decent car. Maybe a 1 year contract with a option on him for further years. Will Alonso be interested though? I bet he would love a seat at RB but is he willing to take another gamble on having a Honda engine? It is much better in the Torro Rosso than it ever was in the McLaren so there is promise for it.

If Red Bull have serious championship ideas then it has to be Alonso, no harm in giving Gasly and anyone else an extra year at Torro Rosso.
That said, Kimi might be a good “consistent” teammate to Verstappen as he currently is to Sebastian Vettel

RB arnt going to pay Alonso's kind of money, that would be 2 huge wages and I think that is part of the reason dr left.

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that all the deals end 2020 due to 2020 being when the teams contracts/participation end and then need to be renewed. So don’t get too excited yet.
Althogh I can see Hamilton retiring after this contract anyway.

I think Alonso would drive for buttons to sit in a decent car. Whether Red Bull can manage that with a Honda engine is a good question.

To much fighting with verstappen on he track almost looks like he was getting squeezed into #2 driver slot the last 7-8 races

Why are Red Bull ditching the Renault engines?
Alonso is light years a better and more talented person/driver than Ricciardo.

Because they assume Renault's priority is now their own team rather than whatever Red Bull require from the engine. With Honda they essentially have works team status again.
