F1 Testing 2012 - Week 1, Jerez

Man...that nose is really growing on me.

It looks ridiculous, especially the Ferrari.

Some of the more subtle ones like the Lotus aren't so bad.

Why all the hate? It's funky

Maybe because you have beautifully detailed flowing lines, then a brick wall in the middle.

Bring back the winglet era which most of you hated. Stupidly aggressive and big presence looking.
Or perfection was late 80s early 90s or maybe that's just because I was old enough to rember watching those and not the earlier stuff.

The Ferrari one is especially bad because it looks like a 1970's kind of design effort, which is at odds with the whole intricacies of the rear end..

Yep pictures and problems, like the overheating. Or last years fail exhaust.

the main problem so far is a power cut in the press room. already sorted though

*edit*
i almost forgot, one team is having problems with the exhaust overheating parts of their suspension, and another team has lost a little bit of their brake duct

"McLaren have had a little problem this morning with burning on the floor just in front of the rear tyres. But that's the sort of thing that happens in testing and McLaren will get that fixed pretty soon"

Toro Rosso have confirmed that their exhausts are burning the rear suspension IIRC.

#F1 Toro Rosso's Giorgio Ascanelli candidly admits the exhaust is already overheating the wishbones of the STR7, so he has a job on

Just spoke to A Newey, post box slot is primarily for cooling: driver and other parts. He denies it gives RB8 any aero benefit.
As suspected really. A vent in that position can't easily reach any critical areas for giving an aero benefit.

Yeah of course not.
Of course it does, maybe not add aero, but it must massively reduce the drag of the brick wall on other cars.
