Hopefully we'll see some qually simulations, so will get a slightly better idea of the speed of the teams although I expect they'll hold a little bit off until Aus.

I wonder if Ferrari and red bull had anything interesting up their sleve they were hoping to use on their private day that they will now be forced to test in public?

amazing how big the BBC sport headlines where about this - made it sound like they were missing the whole of the final test, rather than unable to test one day later lol

Im guessing your suspicion must have something to do with it - although would they have had both drivers on hand, or would they have started the season with some stuff already about Vettel getting to test stuff before Webber.....lol

I'm happy the last two days are on the weekend, I'll be able to follow live for once.

Looks like the front 5 are going to be much closer this year, I hope so anyway.

I believe Mercedes topped the time sheets last year with their qualifying sims last year and ended up qualifying 7th and 11th, 2 seconds off the pace! It has become very, very difficult to read testing since they banned refueling.

08:48 Heikki Kovalainen confirms his absence is due to food poisoning via a more-detailed-than-we-really-wanted Tweet on @H_Kovalainen: "Wow what a night not been sick like this for a long time... both ends like no tomorrow! Not sure what I picked up and where but not nice..."

From autosport
"Some info from Pirelli - the tyre firm has brought more medium tyres here than any other compound.
114 sets in all. Plus 69 sets of hards, 94 of softs and 38 of super-softs."
