Thing is, TR has done 20 laps today, which isn't great and they haven't had a great first two days. But the Red Bull seems to be significantly worse off than them at this stage. Of course in the 20 laps today Vergne hasn't done a lap within 20 seconds of the pace the Merc's have been doing. Are TR going around super slowly to not overheat, or some other issue. If the TR isn't overheating, why is Red Bull's, more to the point why is it overheating in what is very cold conditions.
EDIT:- actually air temp up to 10c and track temp apparently 20c, so higher than the 8c track temps earlier obviously, not warm/hot but not that cold either now.
11 laps for Red Bull 160 for Merc, 104 for Ferrari. They can't necessarily make up the laps at future tests, though they can run harder. The problem is the lack of testing parts/settings, with so few laps they have no idea where the car is. They may get on the track and find they need say way more downforce but all their current new development is more speed. Knowing where to go between first and second test has to be crucial and they can't really have a clue at this point.
I wonder if they'll be back out today at all.
