Fingers crossed Ferrari continue to look a very competitive package. Also hoping that Red Bull can take the challenge to Mercedes because the silver arrow is looking frightening fast and bulletproof. Also will be interesting to see what team puts in 'the lap' so we can find out how fast the 2017 cars really are.

Heading off later today

This year they've opened up some of the space between the stands in between turn 15 and 16. The cars are moving pretty slowly there, so it is excellent if you want to get a close side photo. Please take your own food with you though - this was my fourth time at Barcelona and this year was by far and away the worst - truly terrible!

Are you taking the train from Barcelona and walking the remainder?
I'm there on Thursday, trying to work out what's best.

We've hired a car (£10 lol), so will just drive from the apartment there.

Noted, cheers. Not been to the country before so a bit new to me but yeah will go via a supermarket and stock up.

If you take the C-17 turn off at the C-35 exit (marked for the circuit). Follow the road around to the left (don't be distracted by suddenly being able to see the circuit on the right) and then take the next right up the hill. You'll then be at the rear circuit entrance. Park up on the right for free, alongside all the team trucks, and then just carry on up the hill (2 minute walk) to the pedestrian entrance. That's right behind the straight in between turns 12 and 13.

£10?! Where from?

I was thinking about hiring a couple bikes to ride between stands, but not sure if they're allowed on the train or in the circuit.

Newer spec with more performance..... makes me think it will break quicker :p

Who knows, who cares. nothing about them makes me think they'll have made a step forward this year

Break quicker? Didn't manage a single lap before breaking down twice last week.

Only thing I can think of is bursting into flames in the pit lane. Car putting itself out of it's misery.

There's no real indication that they've identified and fixed the problems from last week, so it will be another week of slow not many laps while Mercedes bang out set up testing and a full race simulation both morning and afternoon.

Cheers will give it a try. Flight over was a mare due to French ATC strikes so sat on tarmac for 2 hrs, tailwind meant to only then took 1.5hrs to get there.

Car was booked from Firefly before we left, collected at airport.

"Jolyon Palmer won't be back out due to a need for an engine change. Nico Hulkenberg, who is due out in the afternoon, won't make an appearance before 2PM local time."

Vandoorne hasn't gone back out and still on 34 laps.
