F1 Testing week 2 @ Jerez

Just come back from Jerez.

Swear to god I knew the Ferrari and Sauber would be top of the timesheets, they both looked excellent (Massa especially), and put in a fair few laps. Lotus (black) F1 (ex-Renault) seemed to be just doing installation laps most of the day. Lotus (green unz!) sounded louder than anything else out there. Didnt see Williams at all, must have gone out after the 2nd red flag. Petrov had a nice spin after Renault/Lotus actually decided to do more than just installation laps.

Good fun, fairly well attended too. Weather was pretty much perfect for this time of year.

Edit: Could see Sergio Perez brake later and later as time went on, guy potentially could be one to watch this year in the midfield.

Yeah Williams only did 14 laps.

I was impressed with Perez when I went to Spa last year, looked quick. Definitely the new driver of the year to look out for me.

Here's a quick snap I took of him last year in his GP2 car:

Ahh, a fellow Perez fan!

Hate to be cheeky, but do you have a high res version of that I could have?

I do have some photos of the day, but i'd rather wait for Alex53 off this forum to upload his, much better camera/lens/photographer...

I reckon some of the ones you took were good too tbh :)

Here's my stuff. Not really happy with the (green) Lotus ones, but included for the sake of completion. Never saw a Williams, and somehow never got a shot of a FI even though we did see them.

The (Team) Lotus looks fabulous, and I must say the Renault (Lotus) livery looks much better out on track (in the sunshine) than in the studio.

Anyone spot that the Red Bull was sans its' Shark Fin (and all the better for it!)?

Out of those, the Mercedes is easily the worst looking...

I'm not sure if it's just me getting overexcited about the season ahead or if the cars are stunningly beautiful this year. I love the look of the Redbull and McLaren - what gorgeous functional creations.

Dude, you are not alone. I actually think the cars this year are the best looking in many a year. The last time I saw such good looking cars was in 1993 (Williams FW15c).

What the hell is wrong with you guys. There is no Lotus black and Lotus green. Just Lotus and Renualt. You don't call the McLaren a Vodafone or the Mercedes Petronas.

If you are going by sponsors then you might as well call the Renualt a Larda since it's logo take up more car space.
