*** FA Cup - Qtr Finals - 12th & 13th March 2011 ***

I'm surprised at that result, thats one of the worst Arsenal performances I've seen.

Either that or United were amazing and nullified one of the the finest attacking sides in the world.

I dotn get all the fuss about Willshire either, what exactly is he supposed to be doing that makes him so great?

He was as bad as the rest of the team today, only he did more running.

VDS wont stay(remember his wife's medical condition, thoroughly deserved retirement

Unconventional line up that worked, even if central midfield was invisible for 90+ mins, defence was excellent, wingers and Hernandes were very good indeed.

Lets see how Arsenal react to that in the league
(that midfield will never work on Tuesday, Marseille will murder Utd unless proper midfielders start)

This Willshire, Arse fans talk about, he is a very average player.

still its bottling time for Arsenal, 3 down 1 to go.

Maybe next year is your year, 6 years and counting :)

Game was over after the second goal went in and United were fielding a makeshift midfield with full backs as wingers. :p

I can see why Arsenal fans dislike Denilson, it's like he think he's there just to make the number up to 11

Great to see Valencia and Ramsay back after horrific leg injuries, Valencia had a very reassuring first game back and with Nani out, it's very good timings. Lets hope he rekindles his ability to create assists like he was last season.

I wasn't that impressed with Hernandez today apart from his play in the first goal, he wasn't awful but I though he could have done better at holding the ball up in a lot of the situations where he lost it. After all, the Arsenal back line are hardly a physical one.

VdS might just be the best keeper this season, he's made some flipping cracking saves, hope we can convince him to stay for one more.

Going by his answer in an interview a few mins ago it won't happen unfortunately.

I was thinking during the game who could possibly replace him?

I would be interested to hear why too.

What exactly did people expect from Wilshire, he was playing as DM for the vast majority of the game, with a team around him that were doing nothing, sorry but no matter what player it is, a player with two epic failures either side of him won't look good because theres not much one player can do.

Should he, playing defensively, have just taken the ball around the entire team on his own then scored, and is rubbish because he couldn't do that?

Game wasn't over when Utd scored the second, it was over the second Wenger decided to stick with Diaby, by far and away the worst performer against Barca. Carrick was truly, painfully, embarassingly poor in his last game, he gets dropped, you play better......... Diaby was even worse than Carrick yet we kept him in the team and played exactly as badly again. Utd still conceded a shocking amount of goals on target to Arsenal, but somehow I never really felt like we'd score, meh.

I can't see how Wenger can watch the games and still pick some of our players, its literally something I can't believe, I don't think anyone would have seen Diaby be that bad, but most importantly, utterly utterly lazy, then pick him again in our last important game of the season. Complete joke.

Feel sorry for Wenger and Arsenal. 2 weeks ago they had a chance at 4 cups now just one. That has to be a major confidence blow.

Wenger won't be sacked, he will only retire. He is still one of the best managers in Europe. Just unlucky with injuries.

Talking about retiring... please don't retire VDS. You saved us in the match. This game could've been in double digits. Alumini made some great saves too.

Agree, I do feel sorry for Arsenal, RVP being sent off against Barca was really harsh.

Also agree that Wenger is still one of the best managers in Europe, there isn't many that could do better than what he has done with Arsenal.

And if Arsenal win the Prem, I'm sure peoples opinions would suddenly change about Wenger

Our confidence disappeared the moment we gifted Birmingham the CC. We were useless against Stoke (even though we won, but that was only because Fabregas was on the pitch pre-injury), useless against Barca and useless today. Orient doesn't count because that was basically a practice match.

The players can't talk the talk but it's obvious they really don't have any belief now, and I fully expect them to scrape their way through the rest of the season, throwing away a perfectly good position to win the league for fighting between 3rd/4th.

There are plenty of top quality goalkeepers about, we just need to make sure we actually get one of them :p

must say, manu showed exactly how to play and beat arsenal.

arsenal may not have played their best but manu had a makeshift midfield.

rooney had an excellent game, some of his passes and first touchers were top notch. 6 goals in 8 games i think the commentator said which is not bad at all.

he is defiantly getting back in form.

This is another problem I have with the club; if you lose the same way to the same specific opponent year in, year out... surely you should try something else, or do things differently?!?

When you're not a title-winning club with world class players in every position, then you can't afford the luxury of playing the same way in every game, especially against opposition that consistently bests you, yet that's what we do. :/

I also think its pretty harsh pople are calling for his sacking when VDS stopped Arsenal from scoring a good 3-4 goals.
