Agree. Interviewer was just goading him in to saying something controversial.
Have to say, isn't that really the job of an interviewer? Why do people have this warped opinion that everyone involved in the "news" in any way is only supposed to read out what they are told to.
I'll say it, I didn't see the interview, but sky's interviews are mostly just namby pamby lets give the manager a chance to put whatever spin he wants on the game, general and boring questions. Rarely do they get down the throats of under pressure managers, which they should.
Not saying EITHER way is wrong, its up to the REPORTER what questions HE ASKS. Theres no laws saying reporters have to be nice and happy and help the managers, make them a cup of tea and give them a shoulder to cry on should they want to. Each to his own, I don't think trying to get a manager to admit, lets face it, the truth, is some ungodly sin. He's a reporter, he wants a headline, he tried to get one, theres nothing else to it.
Having seen an interview a couple weeks ago with Rafa, I agree with what he said, he wasn't actually certain of a top 4 finish, he was saying, when questioned about it, its his job as a manager to give his players the confidence to play well, part of that is motivation and part of that is things like saying you can win the title(when you can't, which a half dozen teams do every year constantly). I don't begrudge him making that guarentee, though for Pool fans, they might have a better chance of him walking rather than being paid to leave if he fails to live up to it.
