FA Cup **Spoilers**

He didn't say that originally though, he said before Chelsea splashed the cash other teams were capable of breaking into the top 3 regularly. Before the money Chelsea managed that only once...not exactly regularly.

My point was that we DID accomplish it.

I never argued it was done on a regular basis.

As previously mentioned, 4th/5th is a pretty respectable position as well.

Why?

Look at the last 4 years before the Russian:

01/02 - 6th
00/01 - 6th
99/00 - 5th
98/99 - 3rd

Looks like a team on the down to me, stats can show whatever you want :p

In comparison to finishing 11/14th ?

I don't know why I bother defending Chelsea on these boards, complete waste of my time. It's like talking to a brick wall, reason being you all despise Chelsea....

Can't say I blame you.

I'll leave the discussion now :)

P.S How many cups are Liverpool in the running for now? :p

You have a dig and my team, I'll have a dig at yours :)

Okay Childish. Sheffield Wednesday have won 4 league titles? Chelsea only 3.

Wednesday didn't spend millions to win them either :p

We are talking pre-Ambramovich....the whole point of this discussion...

Average - In mathematics, an average, central tendency[1] of a data set is a measure of the "middle" or "expected" value of the data set.

Is the average not 7.7 ? for those 10 years?
Take that as 7th or 8th.

In other words 10th...

01/02 - 6th
00/01 - 6th
99/00 - 5th
98/99 - 3rd
97/98 - 4th
96/97 - 6th
95/96 - 11th
94/95 - 11th
93/94 - 14th
92/93 - 11th (start of the Premier League)

Looks like average at best to me

You'd have to be a fool to not recognize Chelsea were a team on the up... (not financially)

Chelsea broke in to the top 3 once in 10 years. Since breaking the top 3 they finished worse until they recieved the millions from Abramovich. Suggesting they peaked between 97-99.

Unbelievable.... I would go on to list how superior our trophy cabinet is to yours but it's as I said, pointless...

officially leaving thread :)

I'll come back once we've won the trophy for the 6th time...

Pre Abramovich Chelsea had won;

1 League title, 54/55.
3 FA Cups, 70, 97, 00
2 League Cups, 65, 98
1 Community Shield, 55

Total: 7

Post Abramovich Chelsea have won;

2 League titles, 04/05, 05/06
2 FA Cups, 07, 09
2 League Cups, 05, 07
2 Community Shields, 05, 09

Total: 8

Thats more history "bought" :)

Would you like me to touch your epeen?

You started being childish dragging Sheffield Wednesday in to this.

You said that last time Gussy.

So have Rafa and fergie been fired or resigned yet?

Thought not.

I'm not baiting here, but I dont think either are going to in a job come next season.

Rafa should have been fired a long time ago, i can't see fergie being fired though, he'll retire before long anyway (hopefully)

I really don't see Ferguson being fired at all. He will walk before he is fired and I don't see that happening until they get more league titles than Liverpool.

I dont think Fergie will ever be fired. Rafa however......

As an Arsenal fan i have no real bother with Liverpool. But if Rafa was the manager of Arsenal i would quite happily hang myself. The man has no idea, he is tactically inept and some of the players he buys are ****. Some of the substitutions he does is just unbelievable.

I think Liverpool have somewhat overachieved slightly in recent years, but that man surely must go. If he is that good, put him as Burnley manager. £10 they get relegated.

what annoys me, is crap teams like man city who might actually make it top 4 now they have £££ and teams like liverpool doing rubbish.

Before chelsea threw money around teams like newcastle, leeds broke into top 3 regularly without any sugar daddy owners

be fair we nearly bought the premiership, we chucked money around, and for years to come after that

Poor old Liverpool, just goes from bad to worse this season.

On the plus side Newcastle trounced Plymouth and hopefully it will see us back to our winning ways after a swathe of of draws over the Christmas period.

I haven't seen the highlights yet so I cant comment on our performance but it's nice to see Lovenkrands getting a hat-trick.
