** Fallout 4 Next Gen 2024 - MODS & TWEAKS **

10th anniversary . I bought the GOTY edition when it launched but never got around to playing it, thought that was only a few years ago but looking back it was... 2017.

Spent a lot of time playing Fallout 3 & New Vegas back in the day so maybe the anniversary edition might give me a push to try 4 I cba messing around with mods. How do people think this compares to Fallout 3 / New Vegas?

Worst of the lot IMO. Only one I never managed to finish.

I'll take a look at some point. I assumed that was an extra to buy, not considering that they might push an update to the base game.
That could compromise the old and new gen status for mods.
For those with ongoing games, there have been methods noted to prevent updates for some time.
I have an old gen type copy that I still use to play certain mods. Gets messy though having multiple copies, due to then all using the same save location.

Mine updated, but I do have working copies of both the OG and NG to play, thankfully.

It takes AGES to now close down back to the desktop, I have used the task manager to close it....

It's free if you already have the GOTY version. Not sure what happens if you have some DLC, but not others. No DLC then it's a upgrade, but the price a tad steep for DLC that old.

And most of the additions are skins, plus a few new weapons, some linked to minor quests. Most of the creations stuff is pretty poor - I've seen just one I want, and it's £5 worth of tokens.

Its not free at all !!! as you have to buy some content with Creation Club credits which cost real world £££

I have the GOTY edition, and the upgrade to Anniversary was free for me.

Showing as £35.99 for the Anniversary Edition upgrade for me, although you can buy GOTY edition for £8.49 on loaded (nee cdkeys), so maybe worth trying that route if you want it @AWPC

As I've only played the original for a total of 8 minutes, it's probably not worth me spending anything on

@Kelt - Is it possible that you already had the GOTY edition + any other DLCs included? That would maybe explain the free upgrade

Further edit: it still looks like you need to pay for the upgrade, even if you own the GOTY and/or season pass, to get the creation club bundle stuff, but there are a handful of free creation items for people with only the base game... it's all a bit confusing...

Actually, reading here, it appears the only way to get Anniversary is to buy the Anniversary upgrade, the patch to the base game today was just to add the creation store to the OG game... what a cashgrab :(

The GOTY edition had all the six DLC, not aware of any more.

Steam d/l the patch, I launched it, and a pop-up asked if I wanted to upgrade to the Anniversary edition, that was it.

Fair enough, that definitely isn't how I'd interpret the store page!

Was that patch (before it offering you the upgrade) 1.4GB? That's what it showed as for mine in Steam (as I already had it installed)

Maybe worth AWPC picking up a cheap GOTY key and trying it...

Don't know the patch size, but it didn't take long to d/l, took longer to patch.

I noticed in my steam download folder I had what looked like a few extra DLCs. But since I'm currently playing it with mods, i've deleted all the contents and set the folder to write only. read only.

I have the GOTY as I said its not free at all it said I got it but if you spend anytime browsing the menus you will clearly see you have to buy Creation Club credits for most of the content!

All you get free is the menu to browse the content they want you to buy for real money LOL

If you already own the GOTY you have to buy the Creations Bundle to get the actual 150 pieces of content ingame!
