Fallout: New Vegas

Quick question. How is the support for Gamepads in Fallout? I'm actually more interested in Skyrim - but Fallout is newerer, and i'm preferring to lay back on the sofa and play games on the big screen these days.

for my 360 controller, very good

Brilliant thanks. Had to do all sorts of hacks to get Oblivion working, but by the sound of it i'll build up a little media pc for the front room rather than get it on the console (so I can mod it)

I ended up using Pinnacle to get the 360 controller to work with Oblivion. In the end, it was too much hassle, i just couldn't get the profile quite right. The analogue sticks were way too sensitive.

Well whoever made the Fallout Mod Manager is awesome. I've never had such an easy time adding mods to a game. In fact, I can't stop! I'll post some screenies at some point.

There's a mod on the nexus that allows you to use your action points for sprinting.

Be careful mate. Not all mods are FOMM ready. You have to make them in to Fomods first.

I used FOMM for fallout 3 and thought that FOMM was adding the mods, but it only adds files to the Fallout New Vegas folder, not the Data folder, so if you are using package manager to install .rar or .zip files, check in the data folder to see that all of textures and meshes are in the right place:)

Loving this at the moment.

Playing it on Hard and Hardcore mode at the moment.

Specialising in Energy weapons but I like to use projectile weapons for single targets or the incinerator for multiple targets.

Having to sleep eat and drink water does make a little harder but I like the different ammunition and using the repair skill to make stronger ammo.

No mods yet but I will get them when finished vanilla.

Can someone please explain to me how to play caravan.

I have tried playing it a few times and regularly the only option I am given is to discard a card, this continues until i discard my whole pack! Is this a bug.

When I say the only option - i mean right from the start of the game, I am not allowed to place a single card.

There is a note in the data part of your pipboy that explains it all.

But the general rule is make a stack of cards that total in-between 21-26.

You can use a jack to remove a card, queen to change the suit (I think) and king to add a certain amount to the stack.

This is just off the top of my head and I don't quite fully understand it yet. :p

Are there any high res texture packs for this game? I've sank 16 hours into it so far and have just uninstalled it as I can't stand looking at the god-awful graphics a second longer.

I don't understand how this game can look so awful when even vanilla Oblivion looks great.
